Prairie Village Apartments is located in Pella, IA in the 50219 zip code.
Apartments were bought by people from California and want to charge California prices for Iowa salaries. Four of my neighbors moved out or are in the process of moving out in the last 2 weeksMy rent went up 20% in the first year. Water and trash are not included you pay a community portion. There is neither a maintenance man or leasing office on site. The laundry room is a joke. The washers and dryers only work half the time. But hey they hung up a couple paintings had the floor re-tiled and... added a couple floor mats to improve it. If you’re looking for privacy you won’t find it here. I could literally hear my adjoining neighbors flushing their toilets and shutting cabinets along with one couple’s shouting matches. Another neighbor has been waiting 4 months for a window to be replaced in his unit that the contractors broke while renovating. Trash: there is only one dumpster for 60 units. Parking is another problem you only get one assigned space and very little overflow parking. In my opinion if you want to roll the dice go ahead but at the end of the day you’re going to end up with an overpriced 650sqft headache. Please do your research and try to locate better accommodations if you can.

SHADY TENANTS BEWARE
This is a very unfriendly apartment community, there is a lot of gossip, dog owners that refuse to clean up after them, noise is another issue in this community (stereo bass etc.) it's very unfortunate that the new owners live in California and refuse to act on complaints. The the above doesn't bother you then by all means take a chance but for those that take pride in their surroundings, I think that you will be very unhappy and a nervous wreck.
