Detailed review, unbiased as it gets
Good: High Ceilings, Well maintained premises, Some utilities paid by rent, Decent workout room, Good rec. room, Your own bathroom, Unit laundry, Big sink, Decent living room, Close to Campus, Close to park, Friendly staff, Prompt maintenance, Full size beds, Good water pressure/temperature.
Bad: Internet is bad, Interior finishings (paint splotches, shower spills onto floor, bed was stained, carpet was stained, carpet not stapled down completely), Parking spots for only half the residents... (about 330 residents, like 150 parking spots),
The parking does suck. If you don't have a spot (Which costs about 500 a year), you will need to park 5-10 minutes away. AND all the spots that they tell you is free parking (which I am grateful for) is only 48 hour parking, so you can get tickets for that (I only got one for my 2 years there, but I used my car regularly)
Their personnel, especially the maintenance, is great. Every request I put in they addressed and had FIXED within 48 hours. Crazy good service.
They interior was nothing like the showroom. The shower was especially bad, as there were marks on the shower walls, grout unpeeling everywhere, and the shower door would let water out. The rest of the room wasn't that bad, but there were stains here and there. On top of that, they charged me 75 to clean the bathroom when I left. I cleaned it 2x, and I get that I'm not a professional cleaner but I think I left it as good as I got it (my roomate had his mom help and still got charged lol, I don't know what their standard is) Hopefully the use that money to actually get some of those stains out.
Their workout room is good for an apartment, only big thing missing is a rack. If they had that it would be complete, but honestly I loved working out there. Also its 24/7 which is nice.
Internet was fine for web browsing. If you do any gaming, the wifi is actually bad. I got a screenshot of my ping going above 10,000 (yes you read that right). They've tried to fix it and it hasn't gotten better. They do have ethernet, but only one port for the entire 4 bedroom apartment.
To end a good note, the proximity to campus is nice, and that cannot be overstated. When you are walking everyday, a quarter mile makes a very big difference.
Summary: It was sold as a posh apartment for an average price, turned out to be a mostly good apartment with some unpleasant surprises for an average price with some fees. A good apartment, but not great.

Hi, Jonathan! Thank you for taking the time to leave a review of the community. We appreciate all the kind things you have to say and what you did not like about your time with us. We value all feedback and use it to continue getting 1% better every... day.
While a few apartments may have carpet or furniture slightly different from the model, that is only due to changes in production from year to year with vendors. Other than that, all interior finishes are the same. When we took over the property, maintenance, internet, parking, and packages were the biggest concerns we received from residents we spoke with. Since we have added 24/7 secured package pickup lockers, implemented a same-day maintenance response program, and upgraded the internet as of this July. We are still working on a parking solution to accommodate more of our residents and hope to resolve this issue soon.
Thank you for highlighting our maintenance team! Riley and Mike are great and take exceptional pride in our property's appearance. I have looked up the unit and room you lived in and will have maintenance take a look to ensure the new resident's shower water does not spill onto the floor.
If you would like to discuss your bathroom cleanliness charges, please email us at leasing@republiconmain.com, as we are happy to review any questions or concerns. Jonathan, again thank you for the kind words and constructive criticism. I wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors! -Darion Huntley, Property Manager
