Unresponsive Management

I liked Wellington Woods when I first moved in. The apartment was a decent space, and the leasing office staff were responsive and nice.

However, I started having difficulties with a neighbor who started keeping track of my schedule and my whereabouts. She has, on multiple occasions, told me how she knew I was or wasn't home and whether I was home "late" in addition to other erratic behavior.

When I expressed concern for my safety to the leasing office, they told me in person that if anything...
else happened, they would move me to another apartment. Despite repeated requests by phone, in person and by email, they never confirmed this in writing.

Now that this type of behavior has continued and I have requested to be moved or break my lease, they have become completely unresponsive. I have sent an email nearly every day for a week and a half and they have all gone unanswered.

Additionally, the weight of the toddler in the apartment above mine was enough to cause a ceiling light fixture to come crashing down one day when he was running around. The office did respond by fixing the light, but did not address my subsequent concern over the integrity of the building.

It is unfortunate that an apartment that could be a nice place to live is managed by people who clearly do not care about the comfort or safety of their paying tenants.

Decent

This apartment was decent for the price but had a few major problems.
Cons:
1- no dishwasher!! This might not seem like a big deal but at this point I feel like I spent half my life washing dishes in that apartment and there was only two people living there. I can't imagine having a family there. You could always get a portable dishwasher but for the amount of money you're paying I feel like it should just be updated to include one.
2- front loading washer is always moldy, even after vigorously...
bleaching it.
3- the carpet smells bad sometimes (a wet dog smell), like it was not cleaned well enough before moving in.
4- no storage space!!! There is one closet for storage, the other 2 are in the bedroom and thus filled with clothes. The storage closet was a decent size but not enough space for the things of 2 people, and we didn't have a lot of stuff. You don't really have space for any extra storage in the bathroom (maybe above the toilet if you buy something but it already feels so tiny in there), and so half the closet was towels. The laundry was in a closet so there was very little storage space there too.
5- the bathroom had a serious mold problem and needed some tlc. Bleach was a temporary fix but the mold was growing behind the walls and it really needed to be redone.
6- this is just personal preference but there was nowhere interesting to walk to, no parks or decent bars within walking distance, just a grocery, pharmacy, beer store, etc. There was however an abandoned property nearby that looked incredibly shady but I never had any dangerous interactions with this place.
7- after a few years the rent became way more than the apt was worth.
Pros:
1- The price wasn't bad for the first year or 2.
2- The location is good, close to Princeton, Trenton, etc.
3- I loved the windowsills because they were thick and thus you could use them for storage if you bought bins with lids to put on them, or you could have plants, or elaborate decorations (you could really do it up for holidays, the decorations would be inside but with lights and flashy things you could have a nice setup).
4- Maintenance was always friendly and prompt with fixing things, and the office people were friendly too.
5- There was also always plenty of parking and no assigned spots which was nice.
6- You'll have to keep your car inspected and running or you'll run into problems. 7- The kitchen was small but storage was pretty adequate.

Fantastic thus far

This is definitely an upgrade from my last apartment. Management and Maintenance are friendly and treat us like we're important. Great landscaping and very well kept. My apartment is big and more than I expected. The appliances in the kitchen are gorgeous and up to date. The pool and gym is a big plus. The area is nice and quiet and is pet friendly. I couldn't ask for more.
