Coach Saban's choice for apartment living!
Well, if the $6.9 million highest-paid coach in college football was to rent, Yorktown Commons would be his First Round choice as this beautifully landscaped and gated property offers a winning combination that can't be beat here in SEC Titletown! With 24-hour surveillance, on-site management, lush pool area, ample parking (guests are required to park in "guest parking only!"), tennis courts and an exercise equipment room, this complex should be your next home.
If you are looking for a... partying atmosphere, this isn't it and there's several around town for that environment so head there instead of here. Instead, this is a quiet, older community that houses professionals (UA faculty/staff, DCH, Mercedes, Goodrich), retirees, small families, as well as some graduate, law and medical students who need "quiet study time" in their housing accommodations.
Ideally, this is the best hidden gem within close proximity to campus and just a mile to popular shopping, coffee shops, and restaurants such as Midtown Village, University Mall, Target, Starbucks, The Shops at Legacy Parks and morel. Looking to walk? Only 3/4 mile walk down to Snow Hinton Park. And what is an award winning complex without a top-notch staff? Montez and Richard for leasing, and Adriene for maintenance are like family. They even hold your packages when you aren't home to sign for them, as well as any mail overflow from your mailbox ~ a win win for residents for sure!
Again, if you are looking to party and want to live in an Animal House environment, look elsewhere as loud noise & partying are forbidden, and so are those that litter on the grounds. The on-site manager will confront anyone who thinks otherwise as he walks the property all the time. Also, the owners take pride in screening applicants for their specific needs and look out for the long time residents to insure they are safe and happy to continue leasing.
Other housing communities should take a page from Yorktown Commons' playbook. I've been a resident for 2 1/2 years and will stay here until I purchase a home. As Coach would say, "it's part of a winning process."
