I moved into this complex sight unseen from another state. The staff has always been very friendly and the maintenance crew is very quick and helpful. I have been here now for about 7 months and I am pleased with the staff and main office. I have a one bedroom (A2 I think its called) and it is the perfect size for me. I’ll admit the unit needs a renovation, but its not so bad its unlivable. Especially for the price point. I only have a few complaints. Number one is with the parking. It’s open... parking which sounds great, but the issue is that it is really hard to find a spot, especially in the evenings. The worst part about the parking is you MUST pull in forward and no reverse parking. You will get towed if you reverse park. This is an odd rule and I’ve never heard of this before. The other issues I have is with the location. 19th ave has a lot of homeless people on the streets right outside of the unit. The complex is gated, but it’s still not a safe area to walk around by yourself. Lastly, some of the people who live here are interesting to say the least. I noticed some patios piled with trash bags, and sometimes you get people drive around with a very loud sub-woofer all hours of the night. People don’t pick up after their dogs and sometimes the smell is just terrible as soon as you walk outside. However, I don’t blame the staff for this. Every apartment I lived in has a handful of just terrible neighbors. No matter the location or price of the complex. The manager does a great job of trying to keep this place clean, but I do understand that they can’t fix everything. All in all, the apartment is a great place to live and the complex ‘feels’ safe if you live towards the back. It’s close to the 17 so downtown, airport, or travel up north is easy. Not bad for the price and may consider renewing if they don’t go up on rent.
**Management if you read this, please allow us to reverse park! It sounds silly but sometimes its a lot easier to fit in a tight spot when all the other spots are taken.

Price Issues, Feels Safe, Could Use Some Renovation
I enjoy living at Montevida, especially since the location is close to everything. But the one thing that bothers me is the increase in price every time I renew my lease. I know this is common in the world of apartments, but there has been construction on the main road for the last 2 1/2 years, which makes it very difficult to get in and out. Sometimes one of the entrances is closed, sometimes our water/electricity goes out, and once a gas line broke and I couldn't even get in! I feel that the... cost of my rent should not increase until this construction is completed. I do feel safe there though, I have never had any break-in issues or any suspicious characters hanging out near my building. The outside appearance is nice, and the building is only about 10-12 years old. The interior could definitely use some updating; I'm not too fond of the fluorescent lighting or white countertops in the kitchen. However, they did allow me to paint the walls, which makes me feel at home. I would stay here for a long time if I knew my rent wouldn't go up anymore.
