Looks good but not what it seems

Everything looks good when you go in for a showing. We moved in and they said it was professionally cleaned. There was dirt everywhere my feet turned black from walking on the floor the first few nights before we could clean it ourselves. Dirt in corners, not painted at all, holes and cracks everywhere! Floor boards are coming us, kitchen appliances completely disgusting, and even worse, its our first month here and have a roach infestation!!! There is dog poop everywhere in the front and back.

Beautiful complex, and close to campus, but thats about it

I absolutely love the location, and design of the apartments. However, when I was apartment searching I wanted a quiet place with not too much noise, which is not what I got. While it is much better than some other student housing complexes, the walls are too thin. I can hear the people above me walking, closing doors and moving chairs (daily life). On the weekends me neighbors often throw parties, which I don't mind, other than the fact that my bedroom borders their living room. So unless you... want it to feel like your bed is in the middle of their party I suggest living elsewhere. As some other people have written management is awful. Every time I have attempted to contact them for what ever reason, I either get no response or a quick one directing me to another person and so on, with no resolution. The parking also is challenging. With a single, unpaved paved lot, the spacing of cars is terrible, often leaving many of us to illegally park along the sides. If the complex wasn't so close to campus, and as new as it is, I would have broken my lease and moved out a while ago.

Great Location, poor management.

Markhall apartments is an incredibly cheap complex located 4 blocks away from 4th Ave. to the west and University to the north. A decent two bedroom will run you only $700 a month, which seems incredible even for Tucson prices, but really makes a lot of sense once you realize how bad the management is at doing their jobs. Still worth it for the location, though.
