Can’t describe the unsafe feeling I had since the first day, complex is dirty Pool looks not well maintained, there are big spider everywhere in summer I raised a maintenance ticket asking for pest control and the manager suggested me smash them out since they are not poisoned. Apartment is decent but not the best..

A place to call home.
I have lived here for about 6 months now and I love this place I have had no issues. Mary and Amy are great. Security guard is always on point and super polite. This is a place I hope to call home for a long time. I would definitely recommend living here.

Avoid!!!!
Don't live here. There are so many problems with this complex that I could write book. Homeless people, rude and untrustworthy neighbors, frequent cops, thin floors/ceilings & walls, hidden charges that aren't explained or they "forogt" to charge you for, the pool has been locked for more then a year for "repairs" (but you still pay for it), washers and dryers don't work in the laundry room, they also evicted people during COVID while waiting on relief funds. This place is BAD

Is it really worth living in California?
I'm a virgin at writing reviews, so I can only hope this is beneficial is some way. I highly enjoy reading them, and usually count on them to make my full purchasing decisions when ordering on Amazon. I occasionally ponder the idea of writing one but find an overwhelming sensation of being too lazy. I suppose with a very generous incentive I have become quite perky about writing this review. I currently live in El Cajon, CA in an apartment complex named Timbers Apartments. Like any review, I... would like to share the pros AND cons of this place and allow my readers to make up their own minds. I will begin with the cons because everyone wants the bad news first, right? CONS: The location is congested with industrial builidings and a very cluttered town, which means traffic is very common at any given time. Also, to be fair California itself is far too over populated. Not just San Diego. I find it to be quite noisy since our apartment faces a very busy street. Fletcher Pkwy. It is very hot. I can partially blame this on being 9 1/2 months pregnant but the way that the buildings are placed, there is literally NO crosswind AT ALL. The apartment is very "cozy." It's perfectly fine for a couple and our newborn but far too pricey for such a small area which I believe is about 650 sq ft. We pay $1265.00 without utilities. Utilites are NOT included. We found that the "new" refurbishments on the apartment are relatively cheap. The countertops are very hard to get clean, and the bathtub is stained with dirt and residue even though I clean it it every week. It's a bit frustrating. We pay an additional $50 for a patio that we don't use because it's too noisy outside. We did inquire about this prior to getting this apartment but we were told that we most likely wouldn't be disrupted by the street noise. PROS: El Cajon is a suburb of San Diego. Which the location of San Diego City/ beaches are merely 20 minutes away....(without traffic) Walmart is walking distance, as well as a shopping mall and plently of eateries. Mission Trails are wonderful for hiking, biking and walking and it's only about 10 mins away. The apartments are located on Petree St, which if anyone knows Land Before Time...this name is pretty awesome. Amenities are great ( swimming pool is my best friend) The complex has great upkeep Parking is easy Air conditioning works wonders Friendly neighbors Very friendly AND helpful staff! Weather is always pretty consistent
