Shady

I lived here for 2 years with a roommate when we decided to go our separate ways I was going to move out and my roommate was looking into to staying, but getting a new roommate. Even though our lease was going to be over and I wouldn't have signed the new one Highland Pinetree was going to make me liable for half the rent if my previous roommate didn't find someone to co-sign the lease with. Then we were told we had until a certain date to decide what we were going to do only to later be told by... another worker there that we had less time. Either they don't communicate well there or someone was straight up lying to us because in the end there were quite a few things that we were given completely different answers for. I also have not lived there for almost a year now and I had a few things that were delivered there, I called them about it and asked if they had the packages multiple times and was told they didn't. I got a call this week (12/20/2023) saying I had some things I needed to pick up by the end of the week or they were going to ship it back. Some of these things are dated from FEBRUARY. To tell me they didn't have anything only to find out they had stuff since February and I needed to pick it up immediately is unreal. Why were they holding onto it? Anyway, all this to say. Are the apartments nice? Sure, but this company is shady. Do what you please with that information.

I love living here

I love the staff, the community, and the property. When we moved in everything was fixed and thoroughly cleaned. Every time we have an issue for maintenance it is dealt with the same day. The front office staff is responsive. They are constantly landscaping and upgrading and cleaning and I feel like I'm getting my money's worth. The only downside is the available parking but I have never had an issue.

worst ever!!!

I called asking about a one bedroom, and was told in order to reserve the apt I needed to pay a $35 holding fee, and that also covered one of the application fees. I live in Redlands, and my boyfriend was in the area to see the apt as soon as he goes they ask for the $35 and then shows the apt not even asking if he would like a tour of the place! I would think someone would want to see the place before putting any money down, and holding an apt that they can't even see until the move in date or... at least until the apt is moved out, and ready to look at.. so now we are out $35 for an apt that we don't want due to how small it is. I called asking if we could get our money back due to a miscommunication or misunderstanding ,and they said they don't do that. first of all I didn't even fill out an app I just wanted my boyfriend to go see it, and if he liked it we would talk it over, and then decide to fill it out not be pressured right away ,and put on the spot to hold an apt that we I myself haven't seen and an apt that we didn't decide to move in, and fill out an app. they are really nice people , but the way they explained things, and made it seem like it was ok to just ask right away for money wasn't ok at all.. so after all this I won't be moving here and I lost $35 for an apt that I didn't even fill out an application for they just took my money , and moved on with their day like it was nothing! so before moving here ask about how it works, and don't give them money until you know if that's the one you want because even though they didn't run my credit they still took my money, and won't refund it.

Overpriced, poorly managed.

Pros: Grounds are well kept. Pet friendly. Close to freeways.

Cons: Management is terrible. I get a call just about every month saying I’m either not paying my rent in full, or I’m not paying some parking fee or another, only to find that once again they’ve confused me with another tenant or some such excuse. Rent has gone up by $200 since I moved in. Showers/bathtubs leak. Hot water is either nonexistent or unpredictable, and often swings between insanely hot and freezing cold. Parking is...
terrible, and things get stolen from the gated parking areas on a regular basis despite the onsite “security” which seems to be in place to enforce the pool rules and hand out parking violations more than anything else. Every interaction I have with property management leaves me feeling like something dishonest or unfair is going on, with the exception of Mitesh, who is friendly, professional, and personable. If it wasn’t so close to my office, I would have left a long time ago.

Pet/People friendly

Highland pinetree apts are not just a people friendly but a pet friendly community as well! They just built a small little dog park area not too long ago and are cat friendly. Very safe community for all, kid friendly too. Real community feel with neighbors who say hi and smile when they walk by. Staff friendly and attentive when needed and sometimes they even hold community events with snacks for appreciation. Pools and gym and everything you could want in an apartment community!! You will love... coming home here.
