They respond to some requests but ignore others; super aggressive with rent increases
I've been living in this property for almost three years and each year they have increased rent by over 15% each year on the year. The building manager who lives on site is very responsive but it is clear that SG and the owner care only enough about the building to avoid breaking the law and keep increasing rents. We have had rats running around the exterior for over 6 months, and the traps they have set have had minimal impact. I think they ignored the fact that the neighbor was piling trash in... the alley and they neglected to contact the city or do anything about it, even though residents made multiple requests.
The biggest problem has been that the laundry facilities, which are already limited, have not been maintained. One or two of the three washers has been consistently broken for most of the past year, and the machines regularly eat quarters. Yet the management has not had a problem approving an increase in the charges for the machines. I have personally put in about 5 requests for maintenance (my neighbors have made dozens more), some of which have been completely ignored. The property management staff when speaking to my roommate finally said it is the fault of the bad washing machine operating companies of which there are no good options in the area. An extremely unhelpful excuse for poor service for residents.
Lastly, there is no way to receive packages or let anyone into the entry area remotely. They could invest in a decent gate system, as I requested over a year ago, but it seems they are unwilling to invest any of the huge rent increases in the property in any way.
