Wonderful

We move a lot and I've never really liked living in complexes because of the noisiness/dirtiness/usually unresponsive management... but my partner was in love with the unit and I gave in. The manager, who is new herself to the building, has been wonderful -- understanding / attentive / responsive -- just a total rock star. We came along right before she came on board and I've seen a huge transition in the attention to detail for its residents. Anytime something breaks both in the common spaces... and my apartment, its addressed and repaired promptly. Excellent communication, quiet neighborhood (apart from a few screamers on occasion but thats Hillcrest for you), a hiking trail nearby, and just a general sense of community and friendliness here. I think we will be here a while!

Do yourself a favor and avoid this property

This building is filled with problems. I have lived here for 6 months and there hasn't been a month where there hasn't been problems.

There is a broken fire alarm system that goes off in the middle of the night. It happens so often that people have stopped going out and the fire department has stopped responding. It's a tragedy waiting to happen.

At Christmas, the hot water tank broke and it took nearly a week for it be fixed. The only solution for tenants was to take ice cold showers or...
boil water.

And on top of the constant maintenance issues, the building is noisy. There's construction behind the building that starts weekdays at 7am. In my case, the apartment above my unit hosts parties nightly that often go until 5am. Management is aware of this and has not responded to complaints or done anything to address it except to tell me to deal with it myself and call the police.

The units might be updated and look nice, but there are a ton of issues behind the scenes that will come up soon as you move in. If you choose to live here, don't expect ConAm to help in any way. Once you've signed a lease, they have no interest in helping you.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS APARTMENT!

This apartment is TOO EXPENSIVE for what it's worth! There's really no "amenities" here. The jacuzzi is super old and very small. The gym is tiny like only 2 people can work out there together comfortably! A gym at a Holiday Inn hotel would be so much nicer than the gym at this apartment. The apartment manager, Ericka, is HORRIBLE! She looks like she hates her job so much and she's very defensive at everything and not approachable at all!

More importantly, the elevator in this building breaks...
almost every week! So one could only imagine that taking ALL the groceries up by stairs is horrible!

Last thing, there was a burglary in this building where at least five cars got broken into in the garage that happened September 2019.

I'm thrilled to have found this place!

I love everything about this apartment and neighborhood. The 1-bedroom apartment I have is well appointed; I can't believe that I actually have a fireplace and my own washer/dryer in the apartment! I love the flooring and carpeting, as well as the marble countertops. The balcony gives me a treetop view of the sunset...it's like being on vacation! The neighbors are friendly and I love that so many have sweet little dogs; I love the convenience of the garbage shoots and the recycle on my floor; I... love having a 24/7 exercise room with modern equipment; I love being able to soak in the hot tub; I love having my own parking spot in the covered, access controlled garage and then being able to take the elevator up to my floor; and I love the property manager, Desiraye as well as Mr. Arturo, the full time maintenance man. I can't believe how helpful they are in making me feel like this really is HOME!

And the neighborhood is amazing...peaceful, quiet, well-maintained single family homes and apartment/condo homes. It seems as safe to be walking at night as during the day...we are a couple blocks from all of the fun (and yummy) businesses and restaurants in Hillcrest and Mission Hills (Washington and University streets). Sunday mornings, it's a straight shot (12 minutes) down 4th Street to the Gaslamp, where the parking is free and it's not so crowded. Life is good at Montecito Point!

Shockingly Unprofessional

No one ever answers the phone...if they are ever in the office at all.

New mgmt taking over has obliterated all hope for current and prospective residence to reach anyone there.
