Lots of problems

I've lived here about a year now.

Pros: The units are decent and the management office is pretty good at responding to maintenance requests. The people in the management office are nice and do their best to make the building better. The cleaning staff are nice and do a good job. The amenities are nice when they are functional.

Cons: Both me and my roommate have had lots of plumbing issues. I've had a few cockroaches in my apartment and I know multiple other tenants who have varying degrees...
of the same problem. I have had items stolen out of the laundry room. I forgot to lock my car one time and everything was stolen out of it, while it was in the parking garage. The mail room was broken into this year resulting in months of having to retrieve mail at the post office, causing considerable inconvenience. The building is constantly being vandalized by disgruntled tenants. The security cameras in the building are useless because none of the persons committing the offenses are ever caught. The pool and hot tub heaters were out of commission for a couple months this year, and both are generally dirty. Tenants are constantly throwing broken glass, trash, food, etc, onto the basketball and tennis courts and it takes a long time to get cleaned up. The outdoor grills don't work well. The equipment in the fitness center is all falling apart. There is a bathroom in the fitness center which lots of tenants and employees use and causes the fitness center to stink. The elevators are constantly breaking down (on average only 2 of 3 are operational). Tenants consistently leave trash in the stairwells and other areas of the building. There was a week this year where the trash chutes were having work done and tenants stacked trash in the elevators and lobbys. The stairwells and all the entrances and exits to the building reek of dog pee and poop (at least half the tenants have dogs). The trash shoots are located in the elevator lobbys which causes the lobbys to smell bad. Homeless people hangout around the perimeter of the building (on building grounds) and are seldomly removed (and occasionally get in the building). The building security generally look like they're not doing they're jobs (with the exception of a couple individuals). The building is by a freeway exit so traffic noise is high.

Great place to live

Location is great, remodeled apartments are very nice practically a brand new apartment. Management is friendly and open, staff is friendly and helpful, everyone who works here is very personable and approachable even the lady who cleans the lobby she is very nice. The residents are pretty nice foe the most part very friendly Elevator rides. Also this property has fantastic amenities for being right in the middle of San Diego. How many apartments have a basketball court and a tennis court? Also... the views are pretty good as well!

A Very Unpleasant Living Experience

Lived in this apartment for three years, and the last year was solely because of the fact my roommate and I were too lazy to move (huge mistake). Would never recommend it to anyone I know (or don't know honestly). The windows in the rooms seem like they were installed in the 1820s. Not only does closing them block out absolutely no noise (in a very busy part of the city), but if it's the slightest bit windy it will sound like your apartment is falling apart. The building has fifteen floors and... three elevators, and you should consider yourself lucky if two of them are working leading to nearly ten minute waits to just get to your car quite often. Beyond that, the people who work in the leasing office couldn't be more unhelpful or unprofessional. When we first moved in we were told we would be given a free carpet replacement before moving out, and despite me bringing this up multiple times before moving out, they charged us for a carpet replacement when returning our security deposit. Anytime we called them because our neighbors were playing music loudly in the middle of the night, they did absolutely nothing to rectify the situation despite knowing exactly which apartments were responsible. Not only that but they just wouldn't return messages or emails left to their office (on more than one occasion). During COVID, absolutely none of the amenities were open (understandably), yet when it came time to renew our rent for the coming year, it didn't decrease or stay the same. It went up by over $100/month. For reference, when we first moved in our rent was $2200 a month, and by the time we moved out they wanted $2700 a month (3 years later). That's before throwing in whatever other miscellaneous charges they tack on like parking ($125 a month). Meanwhile, while they were trying to squeeze us for $500 more a month than when we first moved in, they were leasing the exact same apartment as ours for that same $2200 price. They would hold their yearly fire drill inspections multiple times a year which means they would run the fire alarms in every apartment for an entire day. One month went by where construction crews with jackhammers would start work outside our apartment at 7AM or earlier, and when we tried to speak to the leasing office about this, they would just shrug their shoulders and do nothing. Hope this helps at least one person avoid this place.

Great community and apartment finder friendly!

This place is a good place to start your apartment living from ground zero because they offer credit check and not 3 or 4 times rent. They have great amenities and a great community around the units. Dog friendly and offer 24/7 fitness center. This is a great place wether you are first time renter or not!!
