I lived here for years before Westside Habitats took over and left after they did. I had a front facing unit (facing Havenhurst) and it was the WORST. The windows are OLD and provide poor insulation, I could hear every car drive by and overhear full conversations of people on the street. Not to mention, the loud noise of cans banging etc as people would forage through the dumpster looking for god knows what.
The units are tiny. On the ad it says 600-800 sq ft, but mine was 450 sq feet. I don't... think those metrics are accurate. Walls are so thin you can make out the words that your neighbors are saying. You can hear full conversations from the hallway.
The noise was so stressful I feel like it took literally 10 years off of my life.
James was a good manager overall; he would take care of issues if I had a problem. The quality of the unit itself was very poor. It is rent controlled but you get what you pay for.

Poor Management Group - Westside Rental
Horrible experience. Very old building with surface level renovations. Extremely old plumbing system, expect frequent water shut offs, dirty water coming out of your pipes, and poor water pressure. Walls are thin so expect to hear your neighbors TV, music, and conversations. The management group seems more concerned with taking your money than improving living standards. Expect rent increases and hidden charges are everything. Tenants are also unpleasant, noisy, and rude as they don’t have a... strict screening process. Mail and packages stolen multiple times while being a tenant.

Amazing property and freshly remodeled
These studio units are great and the whole complex is undergoing renovation (all vacant units and exterior). The exterior is refaced and the pool area is getting replastered and they tore out the walkway and front lobby and put in new trendy tile. I moved into 1253 in July 2021 and the whole interior had been redone, as well as my unit (new floors, appliances, counters, refaced cabinets, and new bath vanity/toilet/shower). You can walk to all your errands here and there is covered garage... parking. James is also the best manager, he has helped me many times and keeps us up to date on building repairs.
