I lived here for over 5 years and would recommend this building to anyone. The location is great and that you can walk to broadway in about 10 min or less and you can walk to wash park in just over 10 minutes too. It’s close to downtown but the neighborhood is very quiet at night which is great. The building manager here is amazing and will make sure if there are any problems to take care of them immediately. I would recommend this building for anyone looking for a 1 or 2 bedroom

Love this place.
I have lived here for 3.5 years and have loved it! It is hard to find genuinely good people to trust and have your back, and the management of this building truly had my back. They were always available to talk and address my concerns, and put my safety first. They worked hard to accommodate my needs, and the maintenance crew on site were very nice.
The building is a little older, but the apartments are renovated decently and are very spacious. I particularly loved the patio each apartment... had and the open format of apartment.
I also loved the neighborhood. The Ogden Bar is literally on the corner, and is a great space to hangout and they also have great food.
I honestly would have continued to live there but I ran out of space with my partner and we moved into a house :)

Location and Price are worth it.
I lived at the Paragon with my family for four and a half years. During that time, management was always there when we needed them. Any repairs were almost always done within 24 hours. The building manager was very receptive to our needs and made sure my family was comfortable. The neighbors that have been there for many years were friendly all the time. The price of rent went up only twice while we lived there and the increase was totally fair. One reason we stayed as long as we did was the... location. Walking distance to S Broadway, Wash Park, Ross-Broadway Public Library, and other great restaurants in the vicinity. The neighborhood itself is beautiful. Crime is low which is also a plus. My family and I moved because it was time for something bigger, otherwise, the building is great!

Not worth the price for what you get
Newly renovated units are done with poor craftsmanship and care. They look as if it were a home do it yourself project with paint left on the new flooring, bubbles on the wall where new paint coats have been added, closet door knobs not painted to match the other door knobs. The management doesn't seem to genuinely care about the property safety and have had multiple issues with reaching out to them and having them address it with due diligence. Letters are left on doors regularly stating new... rules that clearly do not match up with what is stated in your signed rental agreement making them show breaches of contract time and time again. Notices for building maintenance is often not posted within a 24 hour time period so plan to have surprise water shut offs for entire days abruptly. Maintenance staff is slow, often seen standing around smoking cigarettes or drinking beer out back, and rarely make you feel comfortable when you see them looking into your patio areas whenever they think no one is paying attention. Residents also aren't the most neighborly and often rude and sometimes aggressive in their demeanor when in passing in common spaces. All in all I would never recommend this property to anyone looking within the area unless absolutely necessary. More often than not you have to deal with one thing or another here that you could pay a similar price within the area to not have to deal with potentially as well as maybe having an amenity or two.
