Things experienced at 191 high street: -office people are really nice -a lot of properties are managed by office so it seems to get busy. When you are a prospective renter your calls will be returned promptly but after you are a tenant you may need to make follow-up "reminder" phone calls. -people in the building are friendly -location is good. close to highway and supermarkets etc. -visitor parking is provided which is good especially since there's no parking on the street in front of building... . -the overall upkeep of the building is poor: the common area hallways could use some refreshing- painting etc., sometimes the hallways smell like smoke & marijuana from people standing outside the back & front door smoking. The basement area looks a little dingy. Broken washing machine, the back door doesn't close, missing lighting in hallways/basement. -no notification is provided to you prior to maintenance staff entering your apartment. -seems that shortcuts are taken with repairs and then you have problems with what was "fixed" shortly after. -overall the building is quiet-no partying or people hanging out idling. but the walls are thin - you can hear tv noise in background or sounds of things closing (maybe doors/cabinets?) in other apartments,. people walking down hallway etc. -You can also hear the bathroom vents from other units which are extremely loud-it sounds like it's yours. The vents appear to be outdated doing nothing but sounds like a lawnmower. -plow guy comes around pretty frequently considering that there are other properties that they plow. -there is no sense of urgency with repairing emergency maintenance issues. Ex. leaking roof has been reported over a week ago and it still is not resolved. More leaking followed after another snow storm and now there a chunks of sheet rock falling out the ceiling of my bedroom. I also had to call emergency maintenance twice before someone even returned my call over the weekend.
I would not recommend this apartment to a friend because of the many maintenance issues here outweigh the positive factors.
