Great place to live

I have lived here for 4+ years and I'm a bit perplexed by a review saying no maintenance or that the repairs are the responsibility of the renter.
There is an onsite maintenance person that is out and about every day and any needs I've had were taken care of immediately with no $ on my end. I've had toilet and garbage disposal fixed immediately. Everything is clean, people respectful, and safe. The only reason I wouldn't give it 5 stars is that in the winter, it takes a bit long for them to...
plow us out. Otherwise it is a great place to rent.

5 stars!!!!

Southgate is a wonderful place to live. The owner is extremely nice and will respond to any problems you may have promptly. They just renovated all buildings with fresh paint and carpeting through out the foyer and hallways. All units have heat and air conditioning less than two years old. The apartments are very clean, and my neighbors are very respectful of everyones surroundings. Southgate is located in the heart of downtown Southington, and is walking distance to cute shops, delicious... restaurants and great schools! If you are looking for a safe, clean, affordable place to live, Southgate is it!

not a good experience

Once you sign the lease, you'll never hear from the property owner again. No maintenance or involvement. My neighbor is extremely disrespecful. I would recommend other complexes, anywhere but here.

No!

Landlady let herself into my apartment (after I moved in and signed the lease) without notification- no call, text or email. I was in my apartment when the door opened and she claimed she "didn't see my car" but each apartment has 1 assigned spot; my car was definitely parked there, and I was genuinly scared when someone came unannounced into my locked apartment when I had just gotten home from work.

My bathroom sink leaked during the second month I was here, and ruined all my toiletries and...
cosmetics. Repairs are the responsibility of the renter; I also had an electrician come to fix a spent dimmer after the landlady never responded to my email.

Lately I've been losing sleep- both my neighbors (across the hall and underneath) work at night and get in between 1-4AM. I've tried everything to drown out their late-night noises.

Overall super disappointed that I'm stuck in this lease.
