Don't bother
I have lived here for four years and every year it just gets worse. Property managers are unresponsive and inept. Good luck getting help with anything when things go wrong.

My friend and I went to tour this apartment and OH BOY. First, the communication with the leasing staff was not great. We scheduled an in-person tour (we're both from out of state) and then they called and told us they'd have to change it to a self-guided tour due to staffing shortages. That was fine, but when we got there and told them we were there for a self-guided tour, they got snarky with us and told us that they had us down for a normal tour and made us seem like the issue when they were... the ones who changed it on us. They then gave us a key and a sheet of paper and we were free to roam the property. (Self-guided tour was not worth it, but we did get some fun photos I guess.) Now, here's where it gets weird: we really wanted to see a unit, but it wasn't listed on the sheet of paper they gave us. (Only got to see amenities, which kinda defeats the purpose of touring an apartment if you ask me.) So then, we see the key they gave us has a room number on it, so we assume that it must be the showroom. We go down to it and try and open the door, but we hear voices inside. At that moment, we realized it was someone's actual apartment. We ran and then tried it on another door because we were thinking "surely they didn't give two random strangers (whose IDs they did not check or withhold while touring) the master key." Well, turns out they did. So, if you're thinking about moving here, just keep that in mind. (Amenities did look nice tho.)

You will get no help with the leasing process. If you call be careful because they treat you like a burden to them. It is like pulling teeth, to even get any help. They are extremely rude and curt on the phone. If you’re a student you’re especially warned to stay away from this hellscape they call staffing. No response to emails also. Not even from the customer relations manager. One big joke of an apartment.

I lived at Brookland Press for 16 months and when we first moved in pre-covid it was great. Then, went downhill fast. There was no package receiving service (still isn't), there is no maintenance... our barndoor was falling off its hinges out of the wall the majority of our time there. New staff came and went every month. There were no amenities available and now the property has tried to charge people for having friends over as part of the amenities. Imagine your landlord requesting $1000 to... use your front lawn of your home.. absurd. It is now 6 months after move out and I am still in a battle with management to try and receive our security deposit back that they are refusing to return from their own paper negligence. I would not recommend anyone to live in this apartment or any Kettler managed property for the matter.

Brookland Press is a great community with incredible amenities and a hard-to-beat proximity to the Metro. The staff is very friendly, and the other residents are always very nice.
