Several health hazards in public spaces. Despite it being reported nothing has been done. Everyone I know is moving out or has moved out. Like another reviewer said: only if you’re in a desperate time in your life. Not much better to being homeless.

Mass Place Renovated!
They left these apartments looking nothing like the outside. The best part if you make it out of the waitlist is that the utilities are included which is unheard of in this area. The management company are not big but they are very atentive to call and any issues, which is refreshing for DC.

Only if you're desperate.
I am a current resident and my experience with Mass Place has been horrible. I got approved for the apartment in March of 2017 due to multiple failed inspections. Once I was able to move in(August2017) the apartment looked as if someone had just moved out that same day. There was bugs everywhere(even in the fridge), my counter tops were rising, the cabinets were dirty inside and out, the carpet wasn't layed properly and they did a horrible paint job. I could go on and on about issues within my... unit. Also, the overall building is horrible. There's always a bad smell in the halls and elevators. Some of the tenants may be alcoholics because there's always beer cans left all over the building. The carpet looks horrible. It gives you the same feel as a dirty Motel. Management is extremely rude and nonchalant about issues. You may have to reach over management just to get a possible resolution. I noticed on here that there was bed bugs in the past and guess what.... they're back which makes it obvious that the building is infested. Supposedly renovations will be happening between now and 2019. I honestly feel this is just show for them to continue with the subpar customer service. Move here if you dare and you'll definitely see first hand all of what I've stated. It's not worth it unless you're desperate.

Terrible-stay away...unless you like roaches and mice
This is by far the worse experience I've had in DC my 3 years here so far. I decided to find a place cheaper than other (Mass Place) and saved $300-400. From the first day in I regretted my decision. I've seen roaches, spiders and caught a mouse (and lost one as well). Honestly it's not worth the difference. Stay away and have a drink or two less on the weekend to cover the difference.

If you're moving in here... good luck
Mass Place Apartments has possibly the most combative and incompetent office staff you will ever interact with. Every little thing is somehow this massive issue that you will have to go out of your way to deal with and their customer service is dismal and rude. Worse, the buildings are poorly maintained and office staff doesn't take the concerns of residents at all seriously. The reviewer below described the building perfectly - it's dirty, with an assortment of tenants (lots of alcoholics), and... hasn't been updated since who-knows-when. To top it off, office staff are so apathetic about the living conditions of tenants that I was once told to just call the service number on all 25 broken (community) laundry machines and arrange to get them fixed myself if I wanted to do laundry. Not only will I never rent from any Greystar community building again, but I am actively looking for alternatives and I'm only 4 months into my lease. SERIOUSLY, AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS.
