Key Takeaway: Don't Live Here

Key takeaway: don't move here. In the one year that I have lived in this building, there have been issues with the hot water (or all water), heating/AC, or other critical building features at least monthly. The individual units often have issues with pests. The garage has twice in my time here been broken into and cars vandalized. Depending on the location of your unit there is in-building construction that is incredibly loud and at least three times construction workers attempted to enter my... apartment in error. Depending on the location of your unit, some tenants smoke cigarettes and the smell is terrible and gets into your apartment. Don't be fooled by the shiny lobby and low-ish prices, this building is unsafe, unclean, and uninhabitable and I am so relieved to be moving out.

Cambridge has used coronavirus to take away or severely limit many of the amenities we pay for. Other apartments did not take away all of their amenities. I am not aware of any other apartment complex that has taken these steps. These amenities played a huge role in why residents signed our leases. Other apartments improvised with extra cleaning, had residents sanitize these amenities after use, or let the residents decide if they felt something was a risk not to take it. We justified the... rent because of the amenities. Now we don’t have access to most, or we have access that isn’t even enjoyable. We pay for these amenities.
For over a year, we have lost access to:
• The Lobby
• Free Coffee in the Lobby
• Most of the workout equipment
• The grill on the roof
• An upkept roof (Why is it pitch black at night? There are no lights or any of the accommodations that were there when I signed a lease)
• Accessing the roof and workout area without a reservation (Whose genius idea was it to have the front desk email us twice a day for over a year?)
• Pet Wash Room locked at most times

Over the past year, a homeless encampment has popped up at 12 and Massachusetts, and I have had multiple concerning encounters with people from this encampment.

The building behind us has been in the process of being demolished for over a month now. The unbearably loud construction begins around 7am and lasts most of the day.

When they don't turn the ac on (most of the year), no matter what temperature it is outside, the building temperature hovers around 80.

Loud due to fire department proximity.

Occasional cockroaches.

Noises

you will go insane from how loud this apartment is as you sweat your body out from the fact that they don't have the AC on for half the year.
