Azalea at West Melbourne, top notch!

I was looking for a apartment for my two sons to reside during their time attending FIT. I spent a full day researching over 15 apartment properties in the Melbourne area.
Taking into consideration price point, age of the complex, appearance, quality of construction and cleanliness. Azalea at West Melbourne was hands down the best property. The staff Alex, Kathy and Jose are true assets to the community.

don’t do it

Back in April of 2023 we had a hail storm that damaged screens. The screens still have not been fixed and management doesn’t let residents know why either. Do not believe the 5 star reviews and they have “parties” where if you put a 5 star review online you can spin a wheel for prizes.

Amazing

The management is amazing. They really listen to your concerns and try to help you in the best way possible. If you request maintenance they are at your apt fixing it within a few hours. They regularly clean the pool and they kept all their facilities in top shape. Also the trash valet is amazing. You never have to take your trash more than 5 feet would give 6 stars if I could!

It’s nice but there’s room for improvement

It’s a nice place but there are some flaws that have made us look elsewhere.
1. It’s a “luxury condominium” that is not made for young children. There are no playgrounds on-site which is extremely peculiar.
2. The closets have doors and after touring we realized in the second/third bedroom you can’t use the entire left side of the closet or the right side closest to the door opening because then the door either will get damaged, or not open all the way, or can’t close. There should be...
bifold doors.

3. There is a lot of wasted space in the laundry room. Another shelf on top would really add to it.

We ended up renting a house near a park we can walk to but would have loved to have lived here.

Don’t do it

The Oasis at West Melbourne was fantastic. When Azalea took over, it went downhill fast.

1. We’ve been without internet for 3 days in the last 2 wks, which impacts people’s ability to work and get paid. The manager hasn’t returned any calls and neither has corporate.
2. The gate has never closed once since I moved in January.
3. There is 1 maintenance person for the whole complex.
4. Last time the internet went out (Wednesday) bc they lost power, they just shut the office and left without...
telling the residents.
5. The computers in the business center have disappeared.
6. Rent has increased hundreds of dollars, so renewing the lease is ridiculous.
