Live Anywhere Else
This property used to be great! After new management took over, it got run into the ground.
There are inconveniences, like a weird trash system that gets advertised as a perk, the fact that you can hear everything from all the units around you, and that a smoke detector in the building is almost constantly going off.
Then there are the problems. I’ve encountered water leaking from electrical components on an exterior wall, a bat flying around my apartment, water from a refrigerator line... leaking all the way through one of the walls for months, and bathroom drain water from upstairs raining into the kitchen.
There have actually been multiple instances of bathroom water raining into my kitchen over the span of a few months. The first instance was shower water from the unit above me pouring onto my kitchen stove. That persisted for several days before being fixed. In that event, I was told by the maintenance person that the leaking would “stop when my neighbor turned off the shower.”
The second incident was from a separate drain on my neighbor’s bathroom floor. When I called the emergency maintenance number, it went to voicemail. I received a call back later in the night and was told to “go upstairs and investigate it myself.”
I’ve had to call the emergency maintenance number more than a handful of times, but cannot remember a time when anyone answered. Communication is incredibly poor, and response times to emergency requests take anywhere from days to weeks.
I’ve lived in many apartments, but this is the first one I’ve felt I need to warn people about. It became so bad halfway through my lease that I had no choice but to pay the fee to terminate it early.
