The elevator is always broken. The hallways have a stench. There is not even a clear cut piece of carpet in the hallway- there are patches with different colors. When the elevator was working- it would shake when it reaches your floor. I had to call the village in order for them to start working on it. The locks don’t work on the front door of the building. There is mold on the walls, ceilings and the walls itself has been painted over a million times to hide this! Management is cheap. It is... overpriced for what you are getting. There are ants in the building and the actual dept is pretty dirty when moved in. It’s an older building so, keep that in mind when they show you the renovated show room.

I enjoyed living at Wilshire!
I lived at Wilshire from 2014 until 2019 when I purchased our house. Our two bedroom was a great size. Office staff is really nice and maintenance is usually there within two days.

Great place to live in! Great for families & newlywed couples!
I moved here September 2017 and I can only say great things about the apartment I’m living in. Everything was clean and in great working condition. One of the leasing staff members went in the apartment and personally inspected every area. They also provided a sheet that I had to sign confirming inspection and letting them know if noticed anything that needed repair that they may have missed before giving me any key. Staff has been very professional so far. My ice maker machine recently broke... down. I called the office and a repair order was made. Someone came to fix it within 1-2 days. New parts too! Also, during the holiday season they had an apartment decorating contest which I thought was cool. If you won, you would get $30 off your monthly rent for that month. It’s something! There are also a lot of activities and events in the Bloomingdale Park District and there’s always something fun to do at the Bloomingdale Library. So far my wife and I are very happy here and look forward to staying many more years.
If you’re signing a new lease and read this review please feel free to write my name down as a referral. CARLOS ESPINOZA. Thank you.

Horrible management
These people are unbelievable. It wouldn't even be possible to tell you everything we went through, but suffice it to say that they should be shut down. They knowingly violate health code violations, are extremely rude, and take every opportunity to take the easy/cheap way out or take advantage of their tenants. When we left, they were "redoing" the parking lots. Turns out, they were literally PAINTING THE LOTS WITH BLACK PAINT so that it looked like new blacktop. Don't worry, the potholes are... still there though. If that's not a descriptive enough metaphor for how they run things, I don't know what is. At one point, we were forced to evacuate our apartment for more than a week because of health issues on the apartment's side, and they still wanted us to pay them a full month's rent.
Constantly had people screaming and honking outside the apartments. One morning, we literally had two guys shooting dice next to stacks of cash right outside our door, in the middle of the hallway.
The pool was ALWAYS closed. They would require a life guard to be on duty for you to use it, and then never hire a life guard. We came by in our bathing suits when it was supposed to be open, and the receptionist came running after us with an attitude and said, "EXCUSE me, is there something I can do for you?!", as if we were trying to sneak in. We said we were just going to the pool, and she told us we weren't allowed to, and that they're going to close it the next day anyway and keep it closed for the winter. It was Summer still.
This is all exactly why they made a showroom in the "clubhouse". So that they can make a really pretty room and make sure you never see what the real place looks like. Pretty smart on their part, honestly.
