The company will charge you $200 damage charge without the apartment being damaged. My apartment was not damage. It was very clean and I have pictures. It smelled very bad on the second floor and it had roaches and large waterbugs

CARELESS MANAGEMENT, ROACH INFESTED
Building itself is okay. However management is terrible. I’ve had several missing packages in the mail, and when I notify management they couldn’t care less. Avoid ordering anything valuable to be sent to this address. There are thieves in this building who obviously get away it. I even came home to my apartment with the door left unlocked, wide open. Notified management, and guess what....nothing! Luckily nothing was missing. Also, they are slow to fix maintenance issues. AND there have been a... few sightings of roaches within the building, crawling on the walls in the hallway. If these things don’t bother you, and you’re looking for an apartment with cheap rent and a good view of the lake, take a shot at it. I however will NOT be renewing my lease. Good luck!

Apartment is ok, but management is extremely bad
The apartment is clean and nice. But the management company makes us angry. 1. In order to find someone to get the AC installed, I went to the office and made the phone call for over 5 times in 3 weeks' time. No one shows up. 2. The first month we moved in and no one tells us to pay the rent before the deadline. And $60 late fee was generated and they sent a staff to our door to inform us that immediately. If other services are that efficient, we wouldn't complain that much. 3. The mail room is... inside the management office, which seems secure. But they have very limited office hour, which means it can be very hard to get my packages sometimes. 4. The gym is in the main building and most of us don't have access to it except those who live in the tower(which is only a small portion of residents). We have to get the permission by the management office everytime we enter which is really annoying. 5.The office staff has bad attitude. They always show us face of ignorance.

If you have the chance to see my review, please keep in mind that AVOID THIS PLACE. The manager is rude and pretend like there is nothing they can do but receive your rent. The walls are paper thick that they cannot isolate any noise. I have a noisy neighbor and every time she turns on TV, I can hear it from everywhere in my apartment. All the facilities and equipments are old and lack good maintenances and make me feel like this building is built 100 years ago and has never been renovated. All... they keep nice is their leasing office. In winter, they turn up the heating to burn you but not give you warm. I have asked them to adjust heating by weather but they refused. I have to open my window in winter to keep cool. In summer, the apartment turns to be super hot and the AC is not working well. And roaches are every in summer no matter how clean your apartment is.

York Terrace Homes is a Great Place to Reside!
In May 2016, I moved into York Terrace because the neighbor is quite, trendy and affordable. Also, the location is across from Mercy hospital, McCormick Place, 31st Street beach, 10 minutes from downtown Chicago, accessible to public transportation via CTA buses, Green line trains, divvy bikes, cabs, lyfts and ubers. Therefore, if you want to enjoy a night out on the town, you can jump in a uber or walk to the South loop for a variety of restaurants and/or entertainment. Another great... feature about residing at York Terrace is you can pay your rent and request work orders on-line, as well as, the cooking and heating is included in the rent. In my opinion, the entire staff always maintains a professional manner and their responsibilities are vast considering the amount of residents living at York Terrace. In addition, I really appreciate that all of my requests are handled in a timely and professional manner. Most importantly, the management and maintenance staff services as a team is exemplary.
