Warning Stay Far Away From Wentworth Terrible Apartment + Mgmt
We stayed here for over 3yrs, started off great until mgmt changed during the pandemic. - Extremely unprofessional and belligerent property mgr, very argumentative and rude over email. - Foul substance coming from bathrooms & A/C vents for months, mgmt would not fix it. Had to pay a lot of money for special filters and devices to investigate it personally, turned out to be dangerous levels of formaldehyde and particulates in the air. No idea how such a thing could be in an apartment's air but... it's still there. Mgmt never fixed it. We are not the only ones, there is another review from years ago where someone had the same issue. - Completely unsecured building access door with a flimsy often broken lock and a code that the grounds keeper told us everyone, even those who don't live there know the code. - Overly frequent and unannounced building exterior workers violently rattling our doors as if to break them with work that went on for days sealing off our windows and patio doors for days with no light or fresh air. - A/C unit kept breaking over and over again and mgmt was very reluctant to fix it. Incompetent mgmt & maintenance took months to fix it and we were without A/C during a very hot summer. - On top of everything else they have now raised the rates by over $300 per month.

Great Neighborhood, but AVOID The Wentworth
The West Clay neighborhood is one of the most beautiful places around, so I was sad to leave. But with the Wentworth, I had a neighbor downstairs filling my bathroom and apartment with cigarette smoke and other mysterious smells, and despite working with management and powerful air purifiers and fans, could never get away from it. Then there were the massive ants flooding the kitchen despite being on the third floor and having NO FOOD out and trying everything to fix it. The former management... had a rude maintenance man, as well, so the whole thing was a living hell despite being very patient.
Then the new management came in, and while they were nice and professional and improved some things, they were invasive, always coming in to my place. What made me move was their forced renovation of every unit. This included up to 3 business days of their own choosing to bring in a bunch of contractors the residents didn't know or choose - to tear up some of the carpet, countertops and the rest. This just eroded my trust and was too invasive for me. In my checking around, this is usually done when residents leave after their lease is up, and most people I talked to were shocked to hear it. Other property managers from other facilities were also dumbfounded or admitted it does happen occasionally, but is very hard on residents.
It's not the job of property owners and managers to make life hard for the tenants with forced renovations that are not critical. The new management had a very bulldozer mentality, despite being very polite about it. Add to that, the odors coming from the private condo owner downstairs and the ants still weren't fixed (or still COULDN'T) be fixed by the new management.

While we are disappointed to hear that your experience was challenging, we did find that the vast majority of our residents... welcomed the much needed renovations that we did including all new appliances, granite counter tops, flooring, lighting and hardware. The full renovation of each apartment, was as you mentioned, completed over 3 week days during normal business hours in an effort to minimize the impact on our residents. In regard to the other issues, we would love to learn more about the response time in addressing your concerns and the outcomes to ensure that they were in line with our company standards.
