Horrible management office, property manager is a joke. It takes several calls to get a reply and they don't care about their residents, waiting too long for repairs and serious issues.
Rude on many occasions, even gossiping about residents (grow up!).
Lots of unfulfilled promises. More recently they have been renting to unsavory characters; buildings have marijuana smells and people pulling up at all hours to buy drugs.
Spend a little more and go to a real, decently run property.

Management is incompetent
Prior management was fine but newer management is highly incompetent, it takes several phone calls to get anything fixed and you are lucky if you receive a response. If you keep signing a lease NOTHING gets fixed in your apartment for regular upkeep but you will be forced to pay for repairs once you leave. Only benefits of living here are the location which is in a good school district and nice subdivision.

Decent location. Horrible management.
First of all, get your rate in writing. They changed mine between the time I looked at the place and the time I signed the lease (about two weeks later). By then I was already committed. They will charge you to change all carpeting on your way out, whether or not it was dirty, just so they can tell people it's new carpeting when they show the place to the next sucker. Complaints and issues will be ignored most times. I called them about one issue five times and they never responded. I also had... a bad thermostat for several days. The maintenance guy finally came over while I was gone and said that the heat wasn't working in the bathroom, living room, or bedroom because I had a vent blocked in the bedroom (huh?), so it was my fault. Yet, magically, it worked fine after he left, despite him saying he didn't do anything. Noisy because there are train tracks on one side and a school on the other. Oh yeah. And if you actually want to live here for more than a year, they will make you sign a whole new lease instead of going month-to-month like almost every other place does.

Quiet Community Apartments at Barberry
The Barberry Apartments in Dyer, IN are a wonderfully quiet and safe set of apartment buildings. Barberry offers both one bedroom and two bedroom apartments. They are decently sized and well-maintained. Some apartments are even being updated as people move in and out. These new apartments have beautiful kitchens and bathrooms. Barberry also offers two swimming pools that are well-kept and enjoyable on hot summer days. The apartments are close to an Amtrak station and several restaurants in... the area. We even have a grocery store within walking distance. I am currently on my third lease and have loved every bit of living here.
