Keep Clear

I have lived year for five years and am now being forced out of my home due to "rising costs"... They have increased the rent by $50 here, which has put it beyond my budget yearly. I have spoken with the property manager about it, who did not care and stated it was "across the board" and nothing could be done.

I have enjoyed my time living here, but if this is how management and ownership treat long-term tenants. Stay away, don't move here. There are other apartments in the South...
Bend/Mishawaka area by Edward Rose with more amenities, more conveniences, for cheaper prices. I can go into more detail below about the negatives regarding this living community:

- The rent has increased, yet if you work night shift you will struggle finding a place to park near your stairwell. There have been numerous nights in which I had to park my vehicle, as a lessee, near the end of the parking lot due to guest vehicles taking up tennant spots.

- The walls are extremely thin. You will hear everything from your neighbors below and to your sides. There have been multiple nights in which I've been kept up due to the noise procured by neighbors.

- Marijuana is a huge problem with this property. The stairwells consistently smell of marijuana and not much is done to address the issue. Sometimes the smell will creep into your own unit.

- Lost packages. Living here, you will experience numerous lost packages. The numbering/letter system on the doors is confusing and thus results in packages being delivered incorrectly. Another issue not addressed by management.

Management here was good when I first moved in but has gone steadily downhill. There are poorly planned for construction projects, which typically your given only a 24 hour notice that you will not have parking available at your unit. Management refuses to address the parking issue, which has been brought up several times. When asked about the rent increase, and what can be done for long term tenants, I was told it was across the board, nothing could be done, and essentially to just not let the door hit on the way out. Despite never being late for rent and not causing any problems that's the response received.

Overall, it's a poor choice to live here at the price they are requesting when there are options so much better. Get on a wait list, and wait for somewhere better to open up. You'll be very thankful you did.
