Very Disappointing
For what you get and what you’ll experience, Double Creek Flats is disappointing and way overpriced. The walls are so thin, you’ll hear neighbors coming up/down and in/out of the building along with their full conversations at all hours. At least once a week, we had the displeasure of smelling other people’s cooking in the halls and our apartment for several hours. You will get smells of others’ trash lingering in the halls well after the bins are inside after valet trash has long come and gone... . The dumpsters are an issue with the compactor breaking and trash piling up outside of it. Management changed during our lease and the response from the office staff changed drastically. When bought with concerns, staff is rude and avoidant; “That needs to be addressed by the manager and she’s not here at the moment, but I’ll take a note to make sure it’s handled” was heard way too much with no resolution even if brought up multiple times. After speaking with other residents, they also said the same thing happens when they brought up their concerns (many of which the same) to the current management team. A big reason we moved to the complex was for the gated community and key fob doors/buildings as things were presented as safer. But when the gates and fob readers aren’t working correctly (surprisingly frequent and for long periods of time) that doesn’t help and the complex would really benefit from additional security measures as a whole. Our apartment was dirty when we moved in (carpets not vacuumed, pet hair all over the baseboards/ windows, dirty cabinets in the kitchen and bathrooms, leftover holes in the walls from the previous tenant, etc.) and management did not care or offer to correct it. The maintenance team was always been great and quick and the landscape is well taken care of on a regular basis. When the weather is warm, you will see couples, families, and pets out around the complex which is wonderful and was one of the selling factors for us.

Thank you for your review. We are sorry to hear that you have been dissatisfied with your stay. It sounds as though you may be located on the 1st floor near a point of entry to the building. Depending on what building you are in, your entryway can... generate more traffic than others and I apologize for the noise you have experienced. We do have a non-optional valet trash service that has been a great feature with our community. Having this valet trash does help with the build up of trash at or around the compactor. Unfortunately, we are unable to control when residents dump items in any disorganized fashion, however, our maintenance team is always quick to respond and comes to the rescue! Things do happen that are unforeseen and technology does fail, so things like our compactor and/or gate entry/fob access has been inoperable for a short period of time, but again, we do work as quickly as possible to get it restored.
