Better than other placces

I'm a student at Notre Dame and I have a lot of space compared to other properties in the area. I really like the amenities, it's quiet for the most part. Management has been nice to me and my maintenance requests are completed quickly. One thing I would change is that management seems to make impulsive decisions, and they send us way too many emails and texts to renew our lease. There's no way for us to really opt out of it because those are the same mediums used for communicating important... messages.

Horrendous customer service

They towed my car without my consent after giving me only 3 days notice in order to pave a new parking lot. I was out of town for the week and unable to move my car. When I inquired about the Edge covering the towing expenses, I was met with extreme hostility from the administrative assistant. This is not the first time I have experienced poor customer service with this property. Avoid at all costs.

OK, Hopefully New Management is Better

Moved in in August 2020 and out in May '21. Management switched in January and things did improve, but have a long way to go still. The bus/shuttle listed online was in fact a gross van for several months that was often late or did not show up at all. When UEdge finally got a new shuttle, they still had issues finding a driver and so my roommates and I were stranded several times on campus. When we moved into the apartment, it was not clean at all and the dishwasher was flooded with dirty water.... New management seemed to take our issues with greater concern in the spring and did not charge us for these fixes (as we did not cause them). We did also have several issues getting our updated leases, even with the new people in charge (the old management had us on the wrong move out date). Lastly, there were some super loud parties (as expected in mostly student housing) and UEdge would sparingly fine people for throwing them. Be aware (if you're a student), that this is also housing for locals and people with children. Grounds were pretty well maintained, except for the pool at the end of the year (it was green?). All in all, it was much more inexpensive compared to other housing options but I had to spend more than I would have liked to on transportation to and from campus. If you have a car, then I'd say go for UEdge to save some money.

Definitely Recommend!

I love living at University Edge! The amenities are great and the office staff is so friendly and helpful. One thing I wanted in a home was a quiet place where I could do homework in peace. The apartments are super quiet, I can never hear my roommates. This is the only place around that has a pool, which is a huge plus! Spacious floor plans that are reasonably priced. Perfect place to live while going to school!

Look elsewhere

I’m a current resident at UEdge Notre Dame and I cannot wait to move out.
For starters, no one new should move in because the way in which they’re raising the rent and charging extra for utilities is insane. They’re doing a flat fee of $55 when my roommates and I have never spent more than $35 (including the current $20 allowance) even during winter. There were several months during which we paid nothing extra on top of the allowance.
The office workers are generally unhelpful. Our hot water...
went out and we were assured several times that someone was coming by. They were even rude by saying that they had already explained to us that someone would come by, and no one ever came. We were without hot water for 3 days.
Keep searching if you’re looking for a place to live near Notre Dame.
