they just got new management company Five West Group who raised rent MORE THAN $100/month. DO NOT MOVE HERE they screw you even though you have lived here for a long time (8 years for me) and similar prices for bigger apartments (mine is only 450sq ft) are not as high. do not reward bad investment and management!!

Best place I’ve rented
Very affordable, the grocery store is very close. I have rented from three different places around the lansing area and moving to Grand Ledge was the best decision I’ve made. The only thing I could possibly see as a negative is the school traffic when the school gets out but I just try to time leaving earlier or later to avoid the traffic.

Do not live here!
I would not recommend this place to anyone. They were very misleading when leasing with me. The pictures online didn't look the same in person. The building is more run down in person. When you walk into the building it smells heavily of smoke. They allow tenants to smoke in their apartments. For the amount of money they're asking for per month is extremely high for a place that isn't updated nor kept in good maintenance. I felt as if I were robbed of my money. Do not live here.

I don't plan to move any time soon
I have been here 5 years, and don't plan to move any time soon, if I can help it. I have lived in two different units here in that time. One reason I moved to another unit is to live closer to my daughter & son in law down the hall, and the other reason is plumbing issues in the basement apt I lived in the first 3 years.
I have had a few things I needing fixing here at Sandstone, and management along with maintenance has been very helpful and all issues solved every time. Some things took some... troubleshooting on all parties involved, but we solved the issues to my satisfaction.
Another reviewer mentioned the halls. Yes, they really do need re-carpeting I'd say, but at least they have hired cleaners come in every two weeks to vacuum, wash the windows, wipe down the laundry room and take the trash out of there.
The walls in these apartments (I live in one of the first 3 buildings on Sandstone Creek Drive) are excellent! I do not hear my neighbors talking, their tv or other media. I have excellent hearing too.
My only complaint I would have is the occasional tenant that is loud on their balcony late at night, or the occasional tenant that litters or leaves a broken car in the lot for months.
The rent is reasonable/comparable for the Grand Ledge area, and worth it for the large size apartments. Mine is quite large for a one bedroom and my guests always comment on how big they think it is in here.
Our current manager, Ashley is absolutely awesome! She truly is a gem! Whenever I need to consult with her on anything, it's not drudgery at all on either one of our parts. She really does work with me and is helpful with my concerns!
Maintenance isn't what it used to be when I moved in here in 2014; they aren't as quick to respond as they once were, but they are thorough when they do the work needed. Of course, you have to consider that the owners had more guys on their maintenance crew then too.
The tenant portal is user-friendly and simple; easy to pay my rent or put in a maintenance request.
One other con is that they have only one office person, and she cannot be there at all times as she has many different tasks that require her to be out of the office.

DO NOT LIVE HERE
There was an outbreak of bed bugs that was not taken care for weeks!!! The office staff is rude, if they even answer the phone. The apartments are dirty and VERY outdated. The area does not feel safe at all at night time! Our neighbors did drugs on their patio and the office was notified and did nothing about it. I was almost attacked by a dog that was let out of someone's apartment "on accident". The carpets in the hallways are FILTHY! Do not live here!!!! The only upside is the apartments are... big but they are disgusting and not worth it AT ALL!!!!!
