As a warning, every picture you'll find online for this building is for the largest, nicest apartment they have. Due to early COVID restrictions, we weren't able to view the apartment in person. Upon asking for pictures of the apartment, we were sent to their website where we looked at what was described as the apartment we thought we'd get (the same pictures they have everywhere else). Low and behold on moving day we have signed for the smallest, dingiest apartment I've ever been in. Should I... have done more due diligence? Absolutely. Was it underhanded how this apartment was presented before we signed it? In my mind, absolutely.
I can't walk into the kitchen without shimmying past the refrigerator which blocks the doorway. This apartment hasn't been updated in a long time and it is showing. The apartment clearly gets a new coat of paint after every resident, since the poor job they did sealed all windows shut (this was in the summer and there's no A/C mind you, we were told to use a screwdriver to open it), sealed several cabinets shut, sealed a doorway shut every time it was closed if it was warm out, and is peeling and bubbles up everywhere. The plumbing is a disaster as both sinks and the tub have had to be repaired in the first 9 months. The electrical outlets are few and far between, with almost no available outlets in the apartment, and none of them are three-prong so good luck using an extender. The bathroom has the ugliest blue fixtures and its radiator takes up a quarter of the floor space. The building has a new gang tag spray painted on it all the time. I could go on and on about how much stress and anger this building has cost me, but instead I think I'll just move out.
2/5 for everything above, although for positives I'll note that the location would be nice (if it wasn't for COVID shutting around it down), the price is great, and the maintenance team was always helpful. I just wish I didn't have to meet them as many times as I did.
