This place is not smoke free at all. When we moved in we were told that they have a strict no smoking policy and to tell them whenever it becomes an issue but every single Fall and Winter and the colder months of Spring the smokers refuse to smoke outside and smoke directly in their apartments. It is tobacco and marijuana and it just travels around the building and directly into other apartments. When you walk in the building it immediately smells. Same thing in the elevator and the hallways.... And it’s people who spend all day and night in their apartments smoking. You can’t even sleep properly because you’re breathing it in all night. You then have the ones that light incense to try and cover up the smell and then you have the ones that cook full meals at 12:00AM and it's just not a good time. The air here is already dry but mixed with all the smoking, I've been getting nosebleeds. So if you are a nonsmoker I really wouldn’t recommend this place.
The kids in the building trash the place on a daily basis. And yes, they do run up and down the halls and they scream. They just scream. There are markings all over the walls. Their parents literally allow them to litter wherever. They also have them take out the trash so there will be trash just sitting in the elevator or on the stairs. When they do make it all the way to the garage, they either don't even bother to throw the trash in the actual dumpster and just leave it on the ground or they throw it and end up missing the dumpster completely and trash ends up all around the area. Also, the garbage is collected between 1:00AM and 3:00AM.
There are only two washing machines and dryers per floor yet people are rude enough to always leave their clothes in the machines for hours or for a whole day, making it so others can’t use the machines. People also don’t know how to clean up after themselves when they make a mess. It doesn't help that parents do allow their kids to play around in there. So the laundry rooms are always messy. Things do eventually get cleaned up by the cleaning crew.

Tenant
Apartments are not too bad. There is a lot of kids running up and down the hall way which you can hear clearly in your apartment. Staff that works there is pretty awesome, but with the Limited office hours and fob system which is awesome for security reasons also makes it extremely ruff on receiving packages. Some of the tenants are really rude and mean. If you plan on parking in the garage don't expect a clean car. Has so much dust that in one day your car is filthy. Trash Cans are always... overflowing and the kids take the trash down and just leave it on the ground. The gym machines are broken and benches are not center so its ruff to get a good workout. . If you park on the street prepare for your car to get hit, especially in this area. The laundry rooms on every-floor is actually pretty good, but the tenants will leave their clothes in there for hours...... Only 2 washer - 2 dryer per floor. Some tenants also like to add a gallon of water into the washer............ I don't know why. Stayed 1 year and left.
Wouldn’t really recommend this place to anyone.

Management and Staff are unhelpful
The property is overpriced and management doesn't seem to care about its residents. They will schedule random inspections and require electronic payment methods that are unreliable. Anytime I visit the front desk the representatives seem uninterested in helping anyone. Ambulance and police run their sirens down Portland Ave S every hour since the hospital is not far at all. The apt is also located across the street from a transition home for those getting out of drug abuse. They will constantly... cat call when I am walking my dog. I don't feel safe around here.

Not worth it
Let's first start off with the fact that there is only one friendly person on the management team and the rest just don't seem to care about your concerns. We rented out their "party room", which had dirty dishes in the dishwasher, which clearly weren't ours and smelled horribly to the point where you know they were there for a good while, but then we suddenly got charged for it even after we cleaned it up? Why didn't she check if it was clean in the first place herself before providing us the... room? It was not even our responsibility to fix or clean up after people. Maintenance: I've gone to them plenty of times that there is something wrong with either our dishwasher, our stove, etc, and yet, it takes them over weeks to respond to us. I've never had a problem with that before when I lived in a different complex, which only had one maintenance guy! I mean, come on. We're paying how much for this apartment and we can't even get what we need? Also, I don't know if they're trying to save water, but the shower and sinks in the bathroom come out as if they're running out of water and it takes over five minutes for it to even warm up. Don't even get me started with the other tenants... They let their kids run around the hallways and color on the walls and scream and leave food all over the ground. It's a mess and disgusting. And 99% of the time, these kids are out in their diapers and have no supervision. It's ridiculous. I can't express enough how irritated I get when I'm sitting in the living room trying to relax, but I hear kids screaming and crying outside of my door. This is an apartment complex. The hallway is not a playground or a place for you to trash. One thing I can't complain about much, but will still put in here is the fact that the apartment is located in area where they blocked off a main exit to the highway and the Franklin bridge because of the construction. Not like the apartment could have done anything about it, but it would have been great if they lowered the rent because of all of the noise during the middle of the night and how finding parking on the street got 10x worse. Wish we didn't sign the lease for a second year. It's really not that bad of a place to live in if you can really tolerate all of that crap, but I really don't want to be bothered by other tenants or be in a apartment complex where it's hard to reach out to management about a problem. The least they could do is try to accommodate a little harder.
