Bigos Destroys Military Medals of Disabled Veterans
I lived at this property until June 3, 2016 at which time there was a major fire that made the apartment uninhabitable. While the fire was traumatic, the treatment from Bigos (the company that manages/owns Beach South at the Lake) made the experience exponentially worse for my wife, dog, and I. Aside from fairly blatant lies that were told to us regarding the demolition date of the building, access to the unit, status of our property in the unit, etc... Bigos then took it upon themselves to... determine - without any form of consent - that they would demolish the structure without providing us with any access to salvage any of our property. The treatment from Bigos was so horrendous that I didn't feel comfortable making the move across country that we already had planned without hiring a lawyer first. I can't/won't tell you what you should/shouldn't do, but can tell you that I will never do any business with this company again.

The parking situation is unfair
I think it's really rude that only one car per household is allowed to park near the apartment while the other person has to walk from a non secure lot. If you don't have a sticker in your windshield, you'll most likely be towed. That's really inconsiderate because both me and my boyfriend pay equal rent and we deserve equal comforts from the company. Last night by boyfriend bought a large tv and parked in front of our building (no permit sticker). in the time it took for him to lug it up the... stairs, get into our building and set it down and unwrap it, his car had already been towed. I wish the company footed some of the bill since it's not the residents' fault there are so few parking spaces. Now he gets to pay a towing company because he needed to park in front of his own house for a little bit instead of walking a tv across the property or leaving it in his car until I could help. I also find it very odd that we don't have a garbage disposal. Isn't that kind of basic now a days? Anyway, the parking situation needs to change. All residents should be given the same amenities.

Excellent customer service, maintenance, location, and homes!
I have lived in several apartment complexes, so I know what I am rating. First, the staff at Beach South are friendly and accessible before, during, and after the leasing process. Second, the maintenance team is skilled, efficient, and accessible. Third, the location can't be beat. You can be in downtown Minneapolis in a matter of minutes. If you prefer suburban shopping and activities, Maple Grove is also quite close. The complex is set back away from the noise, but right off of highway... 100. The lake on property is beautiful, and great for boating! The amenities on site are fabulous-- indoor pool is well-cared for, fitness room is clean, party room is great for get-togethers with friends, and easy to book. Finally, our home is really nice. When we moved in, the paint and carpet were all new. Everything else had been deep cleaned, and when we arrived, there was a gift bag waiting for us. We felt so welcomed, and now feel so at home here-- we may never leave.
