Just moved into the best building in town bar none. Great location. Best set of amenities ever! Theater room, swimming pool, hot tub, sauna, and tanning booth, etc. Then I go to the website. A million dollars in renovations. Awesome! Then I find out those exciting renovations are getting rid of the theater room, sauna and tanning booth. All the cold weather amenities that make this building so a step above the rest. Who would rather have a co-working space instead of a theater room with surround... sound? If tenants wanted that they would just go in the community rec room. Also, they forgot that most people who work from home need a landline phone to do their job. So it will likely just sit empty and attract no new tenants...at least far less than a theater room would. They don't realize how great those things make it her. .
Once the renovations are done this will just be an ordinary old building. Not really even luxury anymore. Honestly no new building could compete with this place because of all the great amenities. But unless they plan on lowering the rent when they get rid of everyone's favorite amenities, it kind of won't be worth the high price anymore. There won't be anything to do in the winter here. Am writing this review to ask, before doing the expensive renovations, ask the tenants how they feel about it. It will likely be worth it to keep our favorite amenities and invest the money in other things or just save the money. We love it just the way it is!

The tanning booth has been removed from the site for quite a few years now and... we do apologize if you were miss informed on this space. While the theater style room will be leaving us, we are refreshing that space where residents can enjoy a similar environment with added features. The upgrades have been well accepted throughout our community and we hope you are able to enjoy them as well. Locked out overnight!
THE DOOR LOCK SAGA: I get an email at 3pm that they changed my locks back to the standard electrical fob, which I previously had a dead bolt. I left work earlier then expected and came back to the apartment trying to get access to my keys so that I didn’t get locked out. The woman in the office at 5pm was in the process of trying to reprogram my keys. It didn’t work. They called maintenance and he had to use a special key to get into my apartment… one hour later I am in my apartment. Catch is I... had somewhere to be at 5 and was now hour late, and the door was just propped open. I had to get the maintenance guy to come back to lock apartment before I could leave.. and he assured me someone was coming to change the lock back to the dead bolt that I had previously had so I could get in when I returned in a few hours, crying out of frustration I left not wanting to be stuck in an unlocked apartment or risk leaving it unlocked if I had to go somewhere. I come back at 8:30pm and the same electronic lock they assured me would be changed is on the door and I don’t have a key for it. My phone is about to die but I call the emergency maintenance number there times and leave massages each time. I call a friend and am staying on her couch now because I can’t get into my own apartment. No answer or call back from emergency maintenance over an hour later. I have a cat and a lizard that both need fed and was planning on being at work at 8am but I have none of my stuff and the office doesn’t “open” until 9am and staff are regularly late. I will have to spend more time off work dealing with this tmw to make sure I can get in, get access to my clothes and work laptop.
Update: after leaving me locked out of my residence for the whole night the emergency maintenance never responded. They offer me $150. My rent is $46 a day and the $100 remaining wouldn’t even get me a trash hotel for the night they left me on the street! Not to mention loss of sleep, work time, no medications, unfed pets and stress!! Absolutely criminal!
don’t rent here! It is really not worth it!

Community of neighbors who become friends
I have lived here a while and have made many friends here. Although this community is large, the happy hours (on hold for the pandemic) would bring us together Yesterday, for example, a neighbor stopped by with Chocolate Ice Cream as a thank you to me for looking after his packages. The day before, another neighbor stopped with a "just because" gift. While this sheds a light on those of us who have made this our forever home, of course, the younger people have a vibrant lifestyle and the layout... of this complex allows for freedom and autonomy; but also the opportunity to connect.

Beautiful, spacious apartments
808 Berry has big, beautiful town home style apartments with very attentive, helpful staff. It's not the best location for the price considering you're about a mile away from the Midway neighborhood of University Ave./Snelling. I would recommend this place for college students who are looking for a place close to the campus and downtown.

Convenient location, great building
Right off 280 and university/ 94 allows for easy access to MPLS and St. Paul, but constant construction immediately adjacent gets a little tedious and annoying. Beautiful apartments and building, big garage below, and lovely pool area and courtyard. Street parking gets full on weekend nights and only cats on upper levels, unfortunately. Management and maintenance staff are helpful and friendly, but losing a key or garage door opener will cost you $100 each.
