WORST EXPERIENCE EVER

DO NOT LIVE HERE!!! If i could give zero stars I would. I can not stress the amount of anxiety, stress, and frustration living at the community has brought me. The apartment was dirty when I moved in, I spent hours cleaning the tub. I lived on the third floor and my roommates and I are very neat, they still have roaches and other bugs. Pool is never cleaned. The staff, specifically Shelby is inconsiderate and rude. Also, they will not let you out of your lease even in extreme circumstances. I... graduated from NC State in December 2023, and intended to stay my entire lease term which was until may 2024. My only sibling passed away just weeks after me graduating. Not only that, but she had given birth to my niece two months prior, who spent a month in the NICU due to health complications. When my sister passed, my niece was on oxygen and required 24/7 in home care. This situation called for me to move back home immediately to help my parents through this loss and help care for my sick niece. Additionally, I had to help pay for funeral and medical cost for my niece, which left me with no extra funds to pay for rent at a place I was no longer going to be residing in. I explained this entire situation to the staff and was willing to provide all documentation to the assistant manger Shelby. I even stated that I was ok with paying a fee for breaking the lease! They stated that the only way I could be let out of the lease is by subleasing. Not only that, but once I asked if they could help with the subleasing process by putting the room back on the market or any other way they said no. I would be fully responsible for finding someone and pointing them in their direction. I had to post ads on Facebook, but still had no luck finding anyone who was serious about renting the apartment. I was so stressed and desperate to find someone to take over my lease all while trying to grieve, take care of my nice, and manage my finances. It took a SERIOUS toll on me mentally. They said they would send my account to collections and let me know when they did as they had to find a new collections agency to work with. They never reached out to let me know when they sent it. A year later, and I just now have a collections reported from them that destroyed my credit all for a situation that was unimaginable and out of my control. I even called corporate office to express my concerns and was rerouted back to the home management office. SAVE YOURSELF THE TROUBLE.

Rare pool time

I was so excited to have a place with a pool but was shocked to find out that I wouldn’t have much time to use it. The pool is an amenity that I pay for, like yes, the place is cheap for students. However, the pool did not open until almost June and it is now July and they have already closed the pool again “until further notice.” The summer is hot and I hate not being able to enjoy something that Is supposed to be available to me.

Wouldnt recommend it for students but it does the job

The place is relatively clean and safe. Maintenance is quick and helpful. The office kind of sucks but what can you do.

Reasons I'd recommend:
- easily one of the most affordable places to live in Raleigh

-convenient access to interstate, highway, and downtown areas

-I was able to avoid major move in fees, making it more affordable to actually move in

-roommate matching- you can lease an individual room and they will match you to others within the complex

-pretty quiet for a college aged...
complex

Reasons I wouldn't recommend:
-the parking spaces are barely wide enough to fit your actual car. Your car WILL get hit/scratched. We've had reports of break ins as well, but I haven't experienced that personally.

-The apartment management is a joke. Our downstairs neighbors caught our apartment on fire two months ago and they haven't even began repairs, or told us when we can expect them to begin. If you are on your own, looking for your student, or you are from out of state, I really would look elsewhere.

-the amenities are sporadically available and not well maintained

Just depends on your needs- if you're a young adult needing an affordable place to stay with walkable groceries/but routes, then this would be fine for you. If you are a parent looking for your student- especially if you're out of state- i would not recommend this complex.

Not terrible, not great, just okay

Honestly have mixed feelings about this place. There are many pros and cons. Ultimately I think this place would be great for college kids who are moving into their first apartment or people looking for a cheap place to rent (without cable). I've lived in other apartments in other towns and this was by far the worst. If you don't mind living away from campus and downtown, this place would be good. It is very basic so if you have high expectations, this is not your place. I suggest paying more... and finding something better, but if this is in your range its not terrible, its just okay.

Pros:
This is a great apartment complex for someone looking for cheap housing in a city that can be on the pricey side. Utilities are included which is nice, but there is a cap so just beware. Maintenance is always pretty good at fixing things and really nice. The gym and club house are nice as well with a great study room. Its not really close to campus or downtown but is on Tryon near some things. Also has a shuttle to campus.

Cons:
This is probably the first apartment review I have written. Nothing was terrible, rather just annoying. I had no problem with bugs or anything else as noted in other reviews so that's a plus. However, My roommate was told that we could move in early because my classes started earlier than NC States. However, once we signed the lease, we were not allowed to move in early until NC State moved the date of its classes up because covid. Even then I had to stay in a hotel because the move in date was not early enough like they had said. Probably our fault for not getting names.

Next, the condition of the apartment was not great. We did not get an updated unit but still. Our cabinet was broken when we moved in and the bottom of the other cabinet was rotting. More annoying than anything but I'm noting it for people who would be bothered by it. Very cheap paint job as well as appliances.

The biggest thing that made me mad was Campus Crossing cutting cable. The lease I signed specifically said they would provide cable. The cable was cut off in March without notice to me. When I went to the office and asked they said they sent out a survey and only 5% of ppl used it. The survey numbers were so low because no one was sent the survey (including me). Paying for cable would make this place just as expensive as a nicer place fwiw.

WiFi was not great. They said they were upgrading but my connection was not good at all. Pool took forever to open

Units are in HORRIBLE CONDITION

When my roommates and I stepped foot in the unit we were greeted with so much dust, spider webs, water damage, rust, mold, holes in doors and ceiling, the bathroom looks like it has dried urine around the toilets etc.. When interacting with the staff they were less than understanding of what we were going through which has left us currently without a place to stay. They have stated that they would sent maintenance out to the unit to fix the damage but when I say there is a long specific list of... repairs that need to done and they are not going to get all of that done in one day! Mind you my classes start in two days and I have to deal with people who do not care about me or my sisters, they only care about the money they could lose if we leave. DO NOT COME HEAR! Do not be fooled by the smiles and soft talk and the model that they love to show off because it in no way matched what you will get. WE rented out a standard 3x3 unit. On move in day there were alot of complaints about the units mind you, not just ours. If I could post pictures to this review and prove what I am saying to you I would.
