One star is too much, PLEASE do your research and look elsewhere for reviews. The unit they provided me was filthy. We took pictures, videos, even walked up to the unit with the manager who looked me in the eye and told me it was a beautiful, clean apartment with a dead roach between her feet. Roaches everywhere. Thick, black mold in the toilet tanks. Consulted a former leasing manager acquaintance who stated the amount of roaches/droppings/exoskeletons we found in the 4 hours spent in the... apartment points to an infestation. Not something that could be dealt with by spraying. After paying someone to move me in and back out the next day, paying for a hotel to stay in over the weekend until the leasing office opened (we were told by emergency maintenance that the issue would be “dealt with” during business hours), Wilmington Commons FINALLY agreed to return my deposit about a month later following daily emails that were rarely answered. It was like pulling teeth. And although I never actually inhabited the unit (who could??), I was still forced to pay the remainder of the month’s rent. ASK TO SEE THE UNIT YOU’LL BE MOVING INTO. The model is gorgeous. Don’t fall for it like I did.

I live in a one bedroom apartment and I think it’s a great complex! I have had issues with bugs but it hasn’t been a huge problem. The staff and management are great and take care of my concerns!

One of the best options for College Students
CEV Wilmington is a great starting-apartment for students looking for a location that is both affordable and close to UNCW. I lived in a one-man apartment for about a year, and it was great to finally have my own space. The living room and kitchen spaces were nice, and the bedroom was excellent. Laundry and trash are a bit of a hassle to take care of, but it's nothing too crazy.
It's not a luxury apartment by any means, but it's not meant to be. It's a place to rest, eat, do homework in a... quiet space, etc. If you're looking for an affordable, first-time apartment, I would recommend CEV Wilmington.
PS: After reading the past negative-reviews, I can say that most of the problems have been fixed in one way or another.

Awful
The office staff is rude and have zero interest in helping. I attempted to move into two units and they were both disgusting and under MANY code violations. Smelled horribly of cigarette smoke, stains on the carpets, drawers falling apart, nails sticking out of the shelves, flooring was tore up, cut out, and peeling up, bugs everywhere, mold in bathroom and bedroom, cabinets were filthy with bugs and other residue. There was no way I was staying in that unit because I would not have felt safe.... Not only did I not feel comfortable myself, but didn’t even want my dog living there. I expressed my concerns to Becky the manager and she came up to the unit and said it was one of the cleanest units she had seen that day of move in! I couldn’t believe it. I told her I would not feel comfortable living there and at first she told me to send her an email with the pictures and she would send it to corporate and they would be in touch with me. Then the “regional manager” came in and said the unit wasn’t even bad and there was nothing wrong with it. After that, Becky all of a sudden changed her mind and developed an attitude. We asked her if there was any other way of getting a hold of anyone to discuss canceling the lease and she was insistent on her having to email corporate which I knew wouldn’t happen because how all of the CEV staff say they will do something and then never follow through with it. The unit they show people is absolutely nothing like the units they try moving people into. Talk about misrepresentation. After that day I went back several times to see if they tried fixing any of the issues. All they did was paint over the mold in the bathroom which was poorly done because I could still see the mold through the paint. It got to the point where I didn’t know what to do. My family lives states away so it’s not like I could stay with them in the meantime. Luckily I was able to move in with friends for the time being but now I’m worried it’s going to affect my credit and future opportunities to rent because they will not cancel this leave. My family, friends and I have all emailed and tried calling CEV and pinnacle to get some answers and we get nothing. They do not reply to emails and if you call you will be stuck on hold for more than 20 minutes. We have all wasted so much time and energy on this place and I have never been so disappointed and frustrated.

INFESTED WITH COCKROACHES
On August 17th, he was suppose to have been moving in his new apartment at CEV Wilmington. Due to lack of organization on their part and following up on the signed lease that didn’t happen. Once we got all of that settled, with NO help from the manager, he was finally able to pick up his key. The following weekend we rented a uhaul truck to take his furniture from our house to his new apartment. We all unloaded the truck and started to unpack when he picked up the Router box in his bedroom and... out came a ton of cockroaches. (first video posted) so we then looked in the dishwasher, stove, refrigerator and his bathroom and found more. I immediately contacted the on call maintenance to have them come out to see the infestation and exterminate or spray. (Which I do not believe will get rid of them as Monday as there is. No one ever contacted me back letting me know that someone had been out there or was planning on going out there. And because of how nasty it is he does not want to stay there and who can blame him. I then called two more times after that as well as spoke with someone at the front desk in regards to how nasty his apartment is and how bad it is infested with cockroaches. All the while neither the manager or the property manager of pinnacle student living will return my phone calls or talk with either him or I. So he typed up a letter demanding termination of lease and we have still yet to get a response and they have still yet to do anything. He went again today to check to see if they were still cockroaches all over and there was and he also went to show the video to the manager “who was not in” conveniently. (Second video) why would anyone allow their housing to be this nasty? If anyone has any ideas as to what we can do or who to call please let me know. And share this post to get the word out!
