I've loved living here for the past 4.5 years. The bar has been set very high, and I can only hope to find a place that comes close when I move to a new city later this year.
Tracy is wonderfully helpful and phenomenal at her job. She proactively communicates with the entire apartment community and has made the process of both moving in and preparing to move out a breeze. Maintenance is always friendly, and they take care of any issues or requests absurdly quickly. Living here is effortless... thanks to the staff.
The building itself is ideal for apartments: - Concrete floors and thick walls make you forget you have neighbors most of the time. - Climate controlled reserved parking in the secure garage makes me feel confident in my car's safety. - Gigabit fiber that only went out on me once in 4+ years living here.
There is convenient street parking for guests, a secure package room, and trash/recycling chutes on every floor. And the gym has a full sized barbell + rack!
I could go on but I'll leave it there. This place has been amazing.

A 4 Year Review (10/10 Would Recommend)
I’m a current resident at the Slate and have been here for the past 4 years. It has been a great experience and I would recommend the Slate to anyone! Management (Tracy) is very kind and helpful, and quickly addresses any concerns residents may have.
I spent the first year on the 7th floor in a 2 bedroom apartment (The Cash layout) with a roommate, and it was everything we could want. Both rooms were plenty large for queen size beds and desk space to spare. No complaints whatsoever about... noise, bugs, or utilities. Appliances are up to date, sinks are deep, and water pressure in the bathroom is really powerful! My roommate ended up getting married so I moved into my own space and have been on the 8th floor (The Warhol layout) ever since. I also ended up opting in for garage parking and have not regretted at all! It’s super convenient and heated too. Entrance to the building is secured with a fob as is entrance to the mailroom, which I really appreciated! Never had any stolen packages in my entire 4 years and I use Amazon pretty often. Location wise, the Slate is also pretty nicely set up. You can walk to campus (Creighton University) or downtown (Old Market), and there is a coffee shop right next to it! I also really enjoyed the gym and rec space on the top floor. Had friends over for get-togethers on many occasions (bbq on the rooftop), and lots of great views (did I mention the apartments have balconies)! Overall I really enjoyed my time here and would recommend to anyone looking for an up-to-date, affordable, quiet, and spacious apartment.

Relocated to the Perfect Spot!
I’m a current resident at The Slate and have lived here for a year after relocating, sight unseen in person, from Southern California. I was looking at different areas (Old Market, Midtown Crossing), and settled on this location because it had the best of all worlds from a downtown perspective. It was the BEST decision ever! The manager, Tracy, was not only professional, friendly, and helpful, but a lifeline to help me tour the property online, and get approved and set up for move in all... while I’m out of state. Once I moved in, I felt at home! The facilities are clean, amenities are great. Maintenance and all the staff are awesome. My apartment is comfortable, spacious, well equipped and has the best views off the balcony. The neighborhood is quite, and feels like a neighborhood, not just a place in a concrete jungle. It’s walking distance to everything (I gave up my car moving here…a big deal from a Cali girl), and the neighbors are kind, quiet and respectful of the property and each other. If you’re thinking of The Slate, especially if you’re relocating or moving newly into Omaha, I couldn’t recommend it more! Best decision I made in making Omaha my new home.

Great Downtown Apartment Building!
The Slate offers many great amenities on top of being such a clean building with nice and considerate neighbors! It was a great place to live during graduate school and have yet to leave! Tracy is a fantastic property manager and is reason enough to chose the Slate!

Best place to live in downtown Omaha
I lived on the 9th floor for a year and I loved it. The Slate is in a perfect location, the apartments are beautiful, and the amenities are great. Management and maintenance were awesome. Tracy is truly the best property manager anyone could ask for. She would always provide great information anytime I needed it, and she treats tenants like family. I would recommend The Slate to anyone!
