MUST AVOID-DUE TO MANAGEMENT

I really want to love this complex but the management is so poor. Not only does it treat it’s hard working staff terribly, but also their long standing residents. Once your lease is up, they will increase your rent by $700 per month. You might get a good deal when you move in, but be prepared to move out once the term of your lease is up. I am a single mother with a special needs child and they WOULD NOT NEGOTIATE. Also, good luck getting your full security deposit back. Random small... checks came with excuses from management as to why I couldn’t get my full refund. Avoid like the plague.

TRUE Renter Review - avoid

Management is the worst I’ve dealt with. From day 1 there has been an issue with communication. 1 person says one thing, someone else says something different and they all blame each other. There have been multiple fires with absolutely no communication from the building on whether or not it’s necessary to evacuate or what the cause is. There have been 3 fires in the last 2 months to be exact. Dog attacks in the building happen way too frequently for my liking. A few months ago a dog and the... owner were both attacked at the same time by 2 dogs in the communal deck area to the point of blood splatter all over the hallways and both needing stitches. They moved out the following month due to managements terrible handling of the situation (they were neighbors of mine with the sweetest dog). They took over a year to clean the windows so you may have a beautiful view, but the windows are filthy. They put the bare minimum effort into the amenities and especially the pool area. The furniture is dirty, beat up and terrible looking. The lounge chairs and umbrellas look like they were bought at a flee market. The umbrellas are thrown on the floor at the end of the day and it all just looks like an afterthought. On a few occasions I’ve seen a “life guard” dress in plain street clothes and lounge on his phone with headphones in like they live here, how is that safe if they can’t hear someone calling for help? One of them had a friend over to hang out, Mind you the amenity fee they charge is by no means a small fee. Speaking of fees, PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR LEASE! They will put vague wording like “you will incur a lock out fee” but they don’t state how much said fee will be. Which basically means they can charge you $50 or $500 to go downstairs, retrieve a spare key to unlock YOUR OWN DOOR, and they can get away with it because they technically told you there would be a fee.. with our specifying how much. The fee to replace a lost key is $25, yet they charged me $50 to go downstairs myself to grab the spare and unlock my own door. No locksmith or maintenance person came to unlock the door for me and it was during business hours, so what exactly is the $50 fee for? It’s terrible how they try to nickel and dime people here, especially during a pandemic. This may be a luxury area but this certainly does not feel like a luxury building.

Great Location Tower

Tower building with a great location and a lot going on. Light rail is literally right outside the front door which can easily take you to the Path and beyond. Quick walk to Grove Street and Van Vorst Park. Apartment is great excpet for the electric stove which sucks compared to gas. W/D in unit is awesome. Views aren't anything to write home about. Especially since they're slapping up a new building and that'll block all views of Lady Liberty and the harbor. Excellent amenities if you want to... pay for that. Staff is absolutely wonderful. Best thing about the place. Pets pay rent.
