Apartment is poorly built. Paper thin walls so be ready to hear all your neighbors. Expect to deal with mice, roaches, centipedes and spiders no matter how clean you are. If you are on the ground floor, you’ll find yourself having to clean the window sill every 2-3 days from the dirt that comes in due to the poor windows. Landlord is not a pleasant individual definitely not a people person. Mold in the bathroom, leaks, and uneven floors. Also if you don’t have a parking permit don’t even think... about parking in the lot even if it’s to unload groceries, you will get the cops called. On a positive note, only factor the apartment has to offer is space.

Just the apartment for me
Scott Court Apartments are practical well priced apartments that give you a great place to live. The area that the apartments sit in is perfect for quiet living. They are walking distance away from Ridgefield Park center or from the movie theater across 95. The entrance to the highway connectors are close too, and you can get directly into NYC with just a 20 minute drive. It's right next to the I-95 highway, but the beautiful and high sound walls build years ago create almost a hidden valley of... calm. You can't hear the cars, and all you have around you are friendly residential houses. The parking is safe tucked away behind high walls, and the area is wonderful to walk around. The apartments are older, but the wood floors are beautiful, and the staff is friendly. My one bedroom was home for a year, and now that I am moving away for a job in another state, I'm sad that I'm leaving a good home behind.
Make friends with your neighbors, be courteous to the staff, and you will never have any problems here.

Long time renter
I have rented here for 20 years, so it truly feels like a home. Maintenance issues are always handled in a timely manner. Management is open to suggestions from tenants. Neighbors are respectful of others. Convenient and well-placed location. I enjoy living here, and I have never had a problem that wasn't resolved.

Good place to live! Large apartments and conveniently located.
I've been here for about 10 years. It's a large complex so there are always people moving in and out, but as soon as someone moves out the apartment is re-rented. The landlord is on-site all the time and you'll see him or his son on the property checking things out. They make sure the place is well maintained and don't rely on outside management. My experience with them has always been that they are fair, but they enforce the rules. They don't suffer fools. I've always been nice to them,... they've always been nice to me. A couple times I had a problem with rent and they treated me right.
Reading the other reviews, I can say this: Parking--It used to be that anyone could park, but it got out of hand with visitors so the landlord assigned parking permits and now it's SO much better. I've seen cops come and ticket illegally parked cars so that there is parking for the residents. It's not assigned parking but now there is no problem. Maintenance--Yeah, the landlord makes you write a note and drop it off which is a pain sometimes. I asked why and the landlord explained that its so they have written permission to go into your apartment. Makes sense I guess. There is a phone # to call for an emergency. Heat--Once had a problem with the heat. I dropped off a note and they came and fixed it. If anything, sometimes I have too much heat. Bugs--I had a guy next door to me who was a slob and I got some bugs. The exterminator came as much as I needed and the landlord kept on the neighbor until he finally moved. I've heard people complain about the exterminator boxes outside the building, but if they weren't there, wouldn't they pests be in the building instead? I keep my place clean and I have no problems. Water--They post notes on the doors when they have to shut the water off. It's always during the week when most people aren't home and it's never more than an hour or 2.
I guess if you want a perfect place to live you can buy a house or go someplace more expensive, but this place is a good value.

Huge bright and closers
My place is 6 min from NYC. And 3 min from any major highway. It has a terrace for eating the sun set. I have wall to wall closers in my bedroom. And hallway. It 1000 sq feet. There is a walking track behind the building which is perfect.
