Parkchester is not what it use to be

I have been living in my Parkchester apartment since 2007. I loved the area and space the apartment provided for the cost. it was really great for NYC. Loved having everything you could possibly need in this little area (grocery store, cleaners, Laundry, even use to have a movie theater here) granted with time everything changes but it saddens me to say that the area has been on a downhill slope. The Parkchester Ownership does not response to tenant/owners needs as quickly or efficiently as... they use to. It is now 2022 and I would not suggest the area to anyone looking to move now where as I once was a constant advocate for the area. I stayed in the area because I felt it was a safe place for my family. Now I feel like Parkchester has the ability to still be a great place to live however the new Management that has taken over a few years ago clearly does not provide the same level of service to its residents. The truth is you get a good size apartment, however this new management has taken over with sizable increase every time you renew your lease. (and this started before the Pandemic) Forced some people out just because of the increase and the area is not as clean as it once was, however still better then a lot of other NYC neighborhoods. as of 2022 I would tell you to keep looking because if you come here you will be looking for a new place to live shortly thereafter. I hope this helps.

Property Manager at Parkchester responded to this review

I am sorry your experience of management services has not been positive. However, Management constantly strives to improve service response and upkeep of the property. Recently new seating areas have been added for resident comfort, new recycling... areas have been installed, the basketball court has been repaved as well as have some of the walkways and parking lots. We also recently installed a chat feature on our website to respond faster to non-emergency repair requests. In parts of the condominium there are new laundromats and we are working to install new laundromats throughout the complex. This is all in addition to our regular program of pointing and facade repair. More work will be instituted in the coming months. If you go to our website, you can see the improvements under About, Parkchester News.

horrible

I was shown these apartment and they had dead roaches and they want too much paper work for these project looking apartments. Don’t waste your money and time.

Charges too much for faulty appliances and apt

So the refrigerator that they gave me just broke. Ruining hundreds of dollars worth of food as well as my diabetic medication. They're reaction.. we do not have an electrician on-premise on the weekend. We also don't care that you have lost $1000 in medication due to our faulty appliances. Our doors don't close properly. There is a ton of issues here. Don't even bother coming here.

Worth The Rent!

I have been living at Parkchester for two years. I contemplated moving, but other places want twice as much rent for half as much space! Not only will I continue to live here, I want to transfer to a two bedroom.
