My boyfriend and I decided to move here a little over a year ago... at first, we thought the place looked great. No problems with the application or anything. We were not allowed to see the apartment before we signed the lease, we called time after time before we signed it to try and get a tour of the apartment. Each time we were told " Oh, maintenance still has the keys". The day we are supposed to move in, they STILL wouldn't let us see the apartment until we signed the lease. (Me renting my... first apartment, I didn't know any better)
We get moved in and things were fine for awhile. Then, our shower broke, maintenance 'fixed' it and went on their way. Only for it to break again a month later, and several more times after that. Then we had a leak under our bathroom sink, which maintenance left leaking for a few days before they came to look at it. Our water is constantly changing temperatures while you are showering, hot/cold/hot/cold, it never stabilizes.
The heat doesn't work, at least not in our apartment, which maintenance has again 'fixed' several times. Eventually we just bought our own heater.
Someone also broke into my boyfriends car, whoever it was must've gotten into the garage as well, several of our neighbors had their cars broken into as well (And they keep their cars in the garage). The office didn't seem to care too much.
Then a guy that was in the lobby tried to get my friends and I to join him and the security guard in his apartment for a "small gathering". (I didn't know security guards were allowed in tenants apartments or to drink on duty). I told the office, they listened but didn't seem to care. They said they "reported" the security guard to the 3rd party company but, he still has a job there.
The people in the office are nice until you sign your lease, then they couldn't care less about you.
I cannot wait to move, and it won't be to any other building K&D owns.

We are saddened to hear that your experience has not exceeded your initial expectations. We are even more concerned with the timing of this post as the issue with security had been previously addressed and the guard permanently removed from the site.... This review seems to be in retaliation for your recent failure to make a timely rental payment resulting in an NSF and late fees that management would not reverse. While we recognize that there are always opportunities for improvement, we work diligently to provide a pleasant living environment, and we have a dedicated maintenance team on-call to address any issues that arise. Furthermore, while the peace of mind of our residents is of utmost importance, crime has no address. We would like the chance to discuss your feedback and work to make a better impression, so please give us a call at your convenience. Thank you.

Don’t move here.
I’ve been here 2 years and within these two years I have experienced being locked on the elevator twice for long periods of time, maintenance issues I’ve had since the day I moved in(water leakages, bugs, kitchen appliances), and mishandling of packages. With all that, my biggest issue is the customer service. When you sign, they are so nice and smiles. But what you learn when you live here, is that they are extremely rude and unprofessional(from the ladies in the offices to the old security... guard). With them raising rent annually with no improvements, I feel that least they can do is be nice/helpful to the people paying rent. I would definitely keep this in mind when signing a lease here.

We are deeply concerned by the experience you describe in your review, because it does not reflect our efforts to provide residents with superb service and an exceptional living environment. We believe it is important to treat all residents and... guests with respect and professionalism, and if maintenance issues arise, we work hard to resolve them as soon as they are reported to our team. We would like the opportunity to discuss your feedback in person, so please stop by our leasing office.

Worst Apartment I've Ever Lived In
Do not move to this place. It is terrible. The ladies in the office totally sell you a dream when you are viewing it. I should've paid attention to the warning signs from the beginning. I asked the lady if the apartment took section 8 and I'm pretty sure that she lied. It is impossible for them not to with some of the people that I've seen in there. Security is a total joke. The security guards are really nice but they do not do much securing. I've seen several times where they'll just let... people in who are trying to be buzzed in. What is the point of having fobs if you are just going to let people in?? They also do a lot of random things with no explanation. A few months ago they left signs on all of the floors that the power would be out in the entire building for like 12 hours. There was no explanation as to why or anything. One time they also left a note on our door about having a welcome and that we would be fined if we did not remove it but we've never even had a freaking welcome mat in from of our door. At first we figured it may have been for the wrong apartment until we saw that our names and apartment number were typed into the letter. The worst part about living here is the elevators. They are horrible. There are only two of them and they are working on one now but a lot of times the other breaks down so there is no other ways to get up to your floor expect trucking up several flights of stairs. No apologies or anything for this. They couldn't care less. Seriously don't move here.

Gross
Roaches are in the apartments even after being "sprayed" three times! That is so disgusting and unsanitary! Also security is not that secure!

Maintenance Issuse
The staff on the property is very nice and friendly. Keeps the building clean and neat. But if you have a problem within your apartment, maintenance is quick to come check it out. But that's about it. They don't follow up with what it is they need to fix.
