would give Market and Main 10 stars if I could!

Market and Main has been such an amazing place to live! Julia, the property manager, goes out of her way to learn your name, your dogs name , organize packages, everything!! Ben the maintenance manager is so friendly and helpful as well! The apartments are extremely spacious and well designed with quality materials. The common/community rooms are gorgeous and we have actually hosted a number of parties there. Not to mention you are in walking distance to so many food/coffee shops, bank/post... office, CVS and the local walking paths are very nice. Definitely worth every penny!

Promoted as classy, attractive upscale luxury living - disappoints.

When the second renewal arrived, I began to think if it is seriously worth it. Market & Main is a boutique minimalist development. You won't find extensive amenities here, but I do enjoy living in the center of New Albany. The most obvious reasons as low crime, immaculate groundskeeping all seasons, and easy access to grocery stores, restaurants, and the highway. My selection in a "Residence," also referred to as a "carriage house," is constructed over a grouping of 3-6 garages. I favored it... from living in the main three-story building for the open-air ambiance with a high ceiling, lots of windows, and a large outdoor deck. The one-bedroom with bath includes a den that has been useful as a home office. You can expect rent increases ($30-40 a month)at renewals. Utility average (Water, Electric, Heat-A/C) $145-175 a month. The extra expense includes Renters insurance, Parking, and internet $215-245 a month. I don't have a pet, but there is a fee if you do. My disappointment arrives over time, having lived here for several seasons. First, It is impossible to maintain a comfortable temperature of 72 degrees. It's chilly during the winter, the floors are cold from garages below, and I'll add that the opening and closing of the chain-driven garage doors can be heard and felt, a real NOISY nuisance, believe me, you'll adjust waking up at 6:30 AM! In the summer, it's hot, but adding a fan helps. The interior of my unit is flawed. During my first few months living here, floor tile loosened, plank flooring throughout is noticeably wavy, and planks pop and snap when walking and have worsened over time. The white countertops not "granite" but are "Corian" have endless scratches and require constant cleaning. The bedroom and den carpet seams are separating. I have an appreciation for the thought put into providing useful appliances its a good upgrade from my last apartment. I invested much in personalizing my residence, intending to live here indefinitely. It sad to be leaving. However, growth in the area has brought many new apartment communities to consider.
