Just some things.

Be aware when your signing your lease that this property is not non smoking. The second hand smoke i am breathing in on a daily basis is more than any non smoker should ever have to endure. I have to have my window open and a fan going in the middle of winter so my apartment doesn't reek of smoke. Obviously, the landlord says that tenants can smoke in their own apartments and there's nothing they can do about the smell or smoke. Well, your going to lose tenants that way. This apartment is cheap... but very small. Closet is nice. Snow removal takes forever. The apartments across from us does a very good job with removal which is why i know that management is just slow with it. Overall, knowing what i know now, I would not have signed a lease. Can't wait to get out of here.

Landlord is not good

When we first took possession of our apartment, it was only then the landlord realized the carpets had not been cleaned. We were promised a "full remodel" by rob and what we got was far from it. Our carpet is so old padding is missing and it puckers up from the floor in the living room. I would guess its over 8 years old at this point. All they do is run a carpet scrubber over it. In my apartment, they didn't bother to vacuum, scrubbed the carpet dirty leaving me to fish the softball size... soapy wad of cat hair our of the compactor. Ten days later without warning, the landlord ripped out the bathtub surround leaving construction debris and boards with nails sticking out on our floor. We couldn't shower for four days. If you are fond of baths, the tank in the unit is too small to generate enough warm water for a bath more than 1-2 inches deep. Unfinished repairs to our closets ( which we had to point out were broken to rob) provides that added white putty/ brown closet contrast so popular on HGTV these days.
When you need something repaired, make sure you take the day off. We were missing a bolt in our door lock and we had to wait around 6 hours for the full repair. Having 72 identical units and no supplies on hand seems a bit lazy. Most repairs are performed by the landlords gf who doesn't seem to be proficient or skilled. Her paint job on our until looks as if drop cloths were not used. Paint splatter on counters, floors, and doors. In the bathroom they installed a tall kitchen cabinet for the sink base. In the kitchen, one of the cabinets pulled away from the wall because shims aren't a thing out here.
Beware, if you complain about the over nine days of construction on the unit below you, they will purposely keeps working for another 16 days to be jerks. They show up anywhere between 7:30am and 8:30pm seven days a week. If your looking for only cheap, this is it. Don't expect anything out of this landlord, not even snow removal in a timely manner. The last snow it took them over 36 hrs to plow and a few residents had to call off work since they were stuck. The landlord wont lift a shovel. He does however like to mow the lawn, for 20 mins a day, 4-6 days a week. He also likes to bother the residents, I watched him flirt with a much younger tenant the other day and it was uncomfortable to watch.
