I have lived here for 3 months now. I was promised a working dishwasher the day after i moved in…3 months later and multiple maintenance requests, still no dishwasher. My dryer rips my clothes, i put in 2 requests, still no fix.
My car was stolen on the property, no one alerted the community to the crime to warn them. 2 weeks later i have a strange man repeatedly trying to enter my home in the middle of the night. I dont feel safe and am contemplating leaving before my lease is up.

Less than 1 star
I've lived here for 3 years now... it has gotten to the point where we live in a dump. The trash areas have rats and are constantly overfilled with garbage, spilling out into the streets. Pet waste EVERYWHERE. Residents too lazy to clean up and maintenance staff too pretentious to help keep our property clean. Stairwells full of dirt, bugs, and pet waste. They have NEVER been washed. Gutters... "cleaned". Parking, horrible and my car is constantly being damaged because the spots are much too... small. Appliances are older than me, constantly failing, and my maintenance requests go unanswered. I can look past the shitty "upgrades" that were made before I moved in (contact paper over particle board as a "new countertop", LAUGHABLE), but the management staff has completely failed this community. It's basically every man for himself here when it comes to getting anything done in your own apartment. I'm embarrassed to have anyone over because it looks like we live in a 3rd world country outside. Too far? Good. Take care of your residents, we pay WAY too much for way too little around here.

Horrible maintenance and stressful living conditions
Less than 1 month as a resident, and I definitely feel like I made a huge mistake moving here.
The property itself and all the nature is and continues to be a highlight of living at Scott Mountain. It's the staff that makes me want to move out asap.
Let's start with my maintenance requests. Upon move-in, my apartment was not ready. The shower curtain rod was laying inside the tub; the overhead bathroom light was dirty, nonfunctional, and dangling from the ceiling; the ceiling fan does not turn... on; and a hole in the window screen had a hole that was allowing bugs inside.
All of these issues were reported to Scott Mountain in mid-May, the moment I moved in. We are now approaching one month with no resolution. I followed up with Scott Mountain at the end of May, and was told my work orders were printed and on the maintenance person's desk. A week and a half later, I'm trying to follow up again, but my messages, calls, and voicemails now go ignored.
I ended up repairing the window screen myself, otherwise I could not have an AC or any way to counter the fact that my fan doesn't work (note that I'm a top floor unit and it's summer). I also had to superglue the shower rod myself to not get water everywhere each time I bathe. I could have done this myself from the getgo, but silly me assumed Scott Mountain would actually care about residents having functioning fixtures and no bug infestations upon move-in.
In my corner of the neighborhood, the outside of the apartment is just as relaxing as the inside. I have a pair of neighbors who get into loud, screaming arguments at all hours of the day, and escalate to a point of shouting and chasing each other across the parking lot. Scott Mountain claimed they were aware of the problem but it's still ongoing, and I'm just told to call the police without even knowing what unit is causing the noise. It's not annoying, but terrifying to hear loud screams and not know if these people are actually in danger. I don't feel safe going outside when they're around.
I came to Scott Mountain hoping for the bare minimum: an older apartment with no broken fixtures, and respectful neighbors. Instead, I'm already figuring out where I should move to next, and praying I have no more maintenance needs arise before my lease wraps up.

How is this place getting 5 stars!!???
This area is not walkable or bikeable because there is nothing but trash and homeless EVERYWHERE! Management never responds to emails or answers their phone or returns phone calls- so don’t expect any help from them. Everything was fine when we moved in 2021 now I’m looking at a little homeless community from my balcony. Location sucks!

It’s hit or miss living here
Management and Office staff has changed like every other week and none know what is going on or how to communicate. Terrible parking. Homeless camps behind the buildings. Yes we know they are not on the property but maybe since it’s a fire hazard to the ACTUAL property the management could and should communicate with the authorities to fix it. Take ownership! Security only comes if you call them so there is no ACTIVE security presence. Neighbors tires got slashed, broken glass everywhere on the... road, huge potholes, random people illegally dump their huge loads of waste by our dumpsters, the list goes on. The mail boxes Were broken for 9 months. They had been broken into by someone mid to late 2021 and their communication about this the past however many months has been nonexistent, they blame everyone and everything else but themselves. Again! Take ownership of these issues, it’s not a hard concept. And after all of this, they have the gall to raise our rent. What a joke! I even emailed management about this AND corporate and I was ignored. And yes I know your generic response will be to please talk to us about these situations, lol.
