Extremely clean and well maintained
All these old reviews refer to the noise from renovation, which is understandable but no longer applicable. They're currently 75% done with renovating all the units and I haven't noticed any terrible noise even with a few units down the hall going through renovation. Management is very responsive to questions/issues, my move-in process went smoothly and painlessly. Compared to my old apartment in Wynnewood, Suburban Court is soooooo clean! Ms. April has the building itself cleaned weekly and the... carpets cleaned at least monthly. Very happy with the amenities and location, all the restaurants are an easy 5 min walk with Septa/Amtrak under 8 min. Parking is a little rough, but there are meters around and municipal lots, as well as free 2 hr parking on School lane/farther down on Cricket ave. The complex's parking lot is $50 a month but limited to 14 spots, so I'm still on the waiting list. Otherwise I love my unit, I had noted a few minor things (calk in the bathroom, small spots on the floor) during the walk-through, but Ms. April had those items fixed the next day well before my move-in date. Very impressed!

A Small Space in a Good Place
Although studio apartments in this building are listed as 410 sq. ft., I am sure that my studio is not that large. I measured this apartment twice when it was empty--once with the help of friend. This apartment is only about 376 sq. ft. (16 ft. x 23.5 ft.). The all of studio apartments are similar--the kitchen and dining area are separated from the rest of the apartment. There is a large walk-in closet, then a bathroom. Some apartments have carpet, others have hardwood floors, or a combination... of both. The biggest drawback is my apartment's size and lack of storage space. The sizes of all of the units might be over estimated online.
That being said, if you can stand being in a small space, this is a good place to live. My apartment has a dishwasher, forced air heating/cooling (no window air conditioners!) and a gas stove. There is no garbage disposal and the refrigerator is only 5 ft. tall. There is free wi-fi throughout the building. The building also has a recreational room with a pool table and a fitness room with treadmills, stair climbing machines and weights with a weight bench. Ownership and management of the building changed at the end of December 2014. The new owners are making improvements throughout--new carpets and paint in the hallways, new, card-operated, washers and dryers in the laundry room, and new furniture in the main foyer. They are really working hard to make repairs to the exterior of the building too--a new roof, repointing and brick work and new cornices, eves and drain pipes. Renovated apartments have new kitchens and bathrooms. There is a new on-line system for paying rent and submitting repair requests. Management responds to requests in a timely manner.
Suburban Court has an excellent location--it is about 2 blocks away from Lancaster Ave in the heart of historic, downtown Ardmore. The regional rail/Amtrak station is less than a 10 minute walk. The train ride to 30th St. Station is only 20 minutes. The Ardmore Ave. stop on the Norristown High Speed Line is 25 a minute walk. There are many restaurants, shops, businesses and salons in the area, including the local library and post office. At near by Suburban Square, there is easy access to a Trader Joe's, the Farmer's Market as well as clothing stores, restaurants and shops. Everything that you might need is within walking distance--a small space in a good place!
