Everything you have read in the other reviews is still 100% true, not an irregularity. Mismanagement: they have no website / residence portal, they still rely on physically picking up paper checks with no other payment options and are more than happy to tell you off about anything you might have an issue and expect that your options for negotiating to be limited/

Corners cut when rehabbing this place: dislodged, broken tiles in the main entry way that are still busted - it's a wonder no one has broken an ankle yet. Exposed brick feature in units are not sealed and continue to degrade. No screens for unit windows, and they're nailed in the track so they cannot be opened enough to put one in. Combined with the HVAC failures and trash chutes, this had been real fun in the hot summer.

There was been repeated breakdowns of appliances (they just rotate them from uninhabited units), power and internet outages. Construction - do you like hearing construction every day with no notice of when it will start or end and no one can tell you? Woken up for over a month to this nonsense and loud enough to be heard on my phone during any calls I had to take while home.) We had a lot of false alarms and evacuations. Trash chutes pneumatics routinely fail, leading to garbage piling up and causing floors to stink. Definitely a plumbing failure at one point and the lobby smelled of sewage for a few days.

Issues with utility billing and over the last year the HVAC system has broken down often for extended periods of time. Their answer was to have you pay a percentage of the total building usage instead of your personal usage.

Break-ins mentioned were a direct result of HVAC failure so the lobby was a boiling humid jungle that it required the doors to be propped open. The poor desk staff members were by themselves with zero backup and clearly not briefed on procedure because nobody knew how to handle a breach like this or any of the various malfunctioning alarms - trying to get info was often met with a shrug as they're trying to phone supervisor who have remained unhelpful. I could go on and on about the myriad of issues we had in our year at the Divine Lorraine. Don't let the pretty exposed brick fool you. The second we moved in, our dishwasher leaked all over the kitchen, it took weeks to fix. We had a two week period where we had no air conditioning in sweltering heat with empty promises coming in that it would be fixed within the "next few days." Garbage shoots jammed up so the entire floor stunk for days and the 24 hour front desk security somehow allowed for... two people to get in, one being able to take keys from the front desk and make it up to the 5th floor for a nap.

Living in a horror movie can't begin to explain my experience at Divine Lorraine. Management is dead awful. We've had 2 security breaches within the past couple weeks. More recently, an intruder made her way into the building, helped herself to the master key at the front desk, and entered someone's apartment. She spent hours inside the building and they couldn't find her. When they finally did, she was fast asleep in the tenant's unit. Of course, after packing all his belongings and putting... them in garbage bags. What was the incident before that??? Glad you asked!!! Another intruder made their way inside the building, turned on the fire alarm on an upper floor, then proceeded to use an extinguisher on another floor to out the non-existent flames. While searching for the intruder, police pulled their guns on a tenant that answered her door. Clearly she has since moved out. After the second incident they had "security" in the building for about two/three days. In fact, that "security" was other staff members that they paired up to use as a front. Management refuses to allow anyone to break their lease. For a "luxury" building, the elevators are filthy (and sometimes smelly). The HVAC system in my apartment doesn't work. The maintenance manager claims it does, management backs him, and so with that, I have to deal with it. I could go on and on about the lights constantly going out and everything else that is wrong with this building, but I digress. If there's any advice I can give you ... STAY AWAY !!!
