We're happy here

This review is written after a year living at the Standard. I've found it to be a great place to live. The location is perfect for me, allowing easy access to downtown, Pour House, and Folly Beach. Whenever I needed maintenance they didn't stop until the issue was resolved, shoutout Byron's crew. Also whenever I had weird issues like technology fees showing up 3x for one month, Sean was extremely friendly, helpful, and poised despite the hectic day the office had experienced. They resurfaced the... pool this past offseason and have nicely landscaped areas. The amazon locker is clutch. Yeah it could be a little cleaner in the stairwells or parking garage, but even having an elevated place to keep my vehicle during hurricane season is worth it. I don't love how much rent continues to rise, but that seems to be a widespread issue across CHS. We'll see if we can afford to live here for another 3 years or so, but in the meantime I would definitely recommend living at The Standard.

Horrible place Terrible management and rude front office staff

Pretty much worst apartment experience possible. Overpriced with poor amenities, dirty and a hideous maintenance staff. Good location. Our unit had many problems as soon as we moved in. The maintenance staff is terrible.

The maintenance staff is of the lowest caliber. They came to fix the garbage disposal and told me the blades were too sharp. How dumb do you think I am. I sent the guy on his way and took it apart myself and sent a video of the blade that was hanging off. They fixed it 3weeks...
later. The maintenance staff will just clear tickets if they can’t fix it.

Water damage to the flooring in front of the fridge. The floor was super mussy in front of the fridge. Well, a few months later the apartment below was was getting water in through the ceiling. Right below our fridge. What a coincidence. Maintenance came and couldn’t find water and left. A few days later the women below us complained again and maintenance came again. This time we had to tell them again, that the water coming out of the fridge was really low pressure. They finally found a loose water line under the fridge. Every time we used the water dispenser it leaked under the fridge. The floor was so damaged the fridge sank into the floor. This was clearly a problem before we moved in. They man handled it out of the floor and destroyed the floor. We lived with the apartment tore up like this for weeks. A few weeks later the washer drain line broke in the wall and flooded the lower apartment each time we did wash. They didn’t catch it the first time. It happened about 3 times before they actually did anything. Flooded the poor women's apartment below us.
Don’t be fooled by the great social media they post, that is the only thing seem to maintain well. I have had multiple posts removed from their feeds. Stay away, far far away.
We couldn’t wait to get out of this place. Be careful with your last months rent. I was over charged $807. It took constantly bugging the manager and calling the corporate number, which by the way they won’t call you back, to get anywhere. The transfer took FOREVER. Again, huge mistake on their part and didn’t seem to care. Sorry we f#$? up your finances for the month, ah well.

So thankful to be rid of this dump.

Absolutely terrible

Pretty much the worst experience I have ever had at an apartment. The place is filthy, the maintenance team is horrible and the front office staff is extremely rude and very unhelpful for any situation.

We had many major issues with our unit with water leaks that took weeks to get fixed. The maintenance team is very incompetent and couldn't fix anything right. I started fixing things myself.

Their social media looks great but that's about the only thing they maintain well. Don't be fooled by...
this. Stay away from this place.

Nice place bust terrible management

Great place and location but never have I experienced such awful management. You need something fixed? Good luck. I moved out two months ago and not have to take them to court to get our security deposit back. They don’t return phone calls or emails. Live anywhere else

Feels like home!

This honestly is the best apartment complex I've lived in. The staff is so helpful and really care about your well-being. The maintenance staff does a great job and always answers your questions, no matter how big or small. Their amenities are amazing as well! The salt water pool is beautiful and the gym is open 24/7. It's also in the perfect location! It's close to downtown, Folly beach, and MUSC. I love calling this place home!
