Lived here for two years, one year in a two bedroom and the last in a 3 bedroom. Experience in the 2 bedroom was fine, it was clean and maintained and good for the price. However, once we moved to the 3 bedroom it got much worse. The first problem was that we didn't even get into the apartment we were supposed to get, because that one wasn't ready even a month after our original move in date. On top of this, we had to pay a ton of fees this time that we didn't the first time we moved in. It... honestly felt like they were just trying to get as much money from us as they could. We had to pay a co-sign fee despite making enough money to not need one. Then there's the actual apartment. There's water damage everywhere and despite repeated requests, maintenance didn't come until our ceiling fell in from water damage (I know other people who live here who had the same thing happen so it's not an isolated incident either). Even then, they left some small holes that weren't patched until months later. They still haven't checked the damage to the rest of the apartment, which was somehow missed or considered a non-issue in the "inspection" they do before letting someone move into it. We think there's mold in our apartment but we haven't been able to confirm that because no one has come to check. There have literally been cases where something has broken, we've put in requests, and we waited so long that we just fixed it ourselves. On top of this, the power and internet just randomly go out sometimes. This obviously isn't 100% on them, but it's the only place I've ever lived where this happens, and it's too frequent to not note it. Just in this new place, the power has went out 3 times in the past two months, and the internet goes out almost weekly. It's obnoxious. Basically, if you're going to move here, TOUR IT FIRST! And, know that you're mostly getting what you pay for. If you get a good apartment, it's not terrible for the price, but when's bad it's REALLY bad.

Hello -
We are very glad to hear that you had a good experience with your first apartment at the Edison. In review of records for your 3 bedroom apartment, we find that there was nothing noted on the signed the move-in inspection report, which is... our indication that an apartment is move-in ready to the satisfaction of the resident. We reviewed maintenance requests since your move-in and found one for A/C work and one for work on the garbage disposal, with both of those completed in a timely manner. Additionally, electrical repairs were made to a circuit. Finally, we recently sent someone to check for any mold issues and nothing was found. Unfortunately, as you have indicated, we have no control over power or Internet outages and understand how frustrating those can be.
We are truly sorry you feel like you aren't getting the same value now that you previously did and we encourage you to reach out to our office if there are still any outstanding issues that haven't yet been addressed.

I've only lived at the Edison for six months, but in that time my air conditioner has broken four times. The longest it was broken was two weeks in the middle of August. The communication between management and renters is pathetic, and you need to stay on top of them to get anything done. I was willing to let some smaller maintenance issues slide (broken closet doors, electrical issues) but after the most recent experience I'm less motivated to cut them some slack. You're constantly given... excuses as to why things aren't being completed quickly, and they won't offer any solutions to compensate you for your troubles. The apartments themselves need serious updating and I'm doubtful my apartment was even cleaned between tenants. The management is seriously lacking, and the stress of having to worry about things you can't fix is not worth living here. I've lost all trust in this complex and I'm counting down the days until my lease is up. I wish I could give them 0 stars.

We are very sorry that you've encountered some issues as a new resident at the Edison. We truly want every resident to have a great experience and we understand how frustrating it can be to have air conditioning problems during a hot summer. We've... done some research into this situation and it turns out that a relatively new tech had tried several times to correct the problem but, unfortunately, he was working on the wrong condensing unit (located on the roof). While this was an honest mistake, we know it doesn't really help matters when you've reported an issue multiple times and feel like nothing is being done to address it. Again, we are extremely sorry. We provided a credit for your inconvenience and trust that everything is in proper working order now. Please know that we work hard to be responsive to our residents and we encourage you, as you did, to always let us know when you have an unresolved issue.

My roommates and I lived in the apartment for 16 months. Everything was fine until after we moved out. We moved out on 12/18/17. There is documentation of this. The following February 2018, I receive a letter from ARS Collection Agency, saying I owe The Edison $440.50 for not letting the apartment know when we were moving out. The “associate” at ARS told me not to talk to anyone or call the apartment complex to discuss the issue, and that if I did not pay the amount, I would be taken to court.... The ARS collection “associate” also told me that ARS Collection and MRG Apartments ARE THE SAME COMPANY. So calling MRG corporate is the SAME as calling ARS Collection agency. I called The Edison apartment complex, anyway, and they told me that they did have confirmation and proof of us giving notice of moving out in December. Then they told me we were being charged because one of my roommates turned in her key on 1/17/18 – a whole month after we had officially moved out. They went as far as to describe what she was wearing in January, when she supposedly turned in her key. The Manager claimed to witness this event in January. The Edison told me they could not contact ARS Collection Agency or MRG corporate because they were “not allowed” to contact them after a resident has moved out. I contacted this roommate, who had proof from the Manager, confirming she did, in fact, turned in her key on 12/19/17. When this proof was sent to the Manager, she called ARS Collection Agency (which they apparently could not do a few days earlier), and our account was cleared. We did not receive our $100 deposit, which was supposed to be refunded to us. This was definitely a scam.
If you decide to live here, consider these things:
1. The apartment community is quiet and the price is good.
2. We never had any issues while we lived there.
3. Maintenance is quick to fix issues.
4. Make sure all roommates physically sign the lease.
5. Make sure to have all copies of all documents from The Edison to keep as proof.
6. ARS Collection Agency and MRG Corporate are the same company.
7. Be aware (and prepared) that they may try to scam more money out of you when you move out.
Hope this helps! Good luck!

The complex is noisy, dirty, and outdated. The staff are friendly but useless.
