Honest review

Just moved out and figured I should leave an updated review. First off don’t expect your apartment to be move in ready. Several residents I’ve spoken to have had the same issue. Apartment was dirty and needed lots of repairs. Some things never got fixed I just got tired of asking. Management never seemed to take initiative at any issues just passed whatever request along. Expect about a 1-2 week buffer until your apartment is at a decent standard (which is ridiculous for the price). The comments... about construction are absolutely true, and it didn’t seem to be ending anytime soon. There was constant noise, dust and streets being blocked (sometimes to the point where I couldn’t leave or enter the property). Parking garage is absolutely filthy, and looked like it had never been cleaned. Gate malfunctioned regularly, and parking company left tickets on clearly labeled resident cars. Didn’t have to pay but just another annoying hoop to jump through. The apartment is what you make it, very similar to other buildings in the area. Only reason the Griff gets two stars are the amenities. Gym, pool, working space and social events were a bright spot in an otherwise poor experience.

Noisy

This is the worst quality of life I've ever experienced at an apartment building. Thankfully, we only signed a 6 month lease, and I must admit, we are counting the days until our lease expires.
This is what a normal day at the Griff sounds like... it's 6am and we hear our upstairs neighbors feet hit the floor, then walk to the bathroom, go to the bathroom, then flush the toilet. We hear them walk to the kitchen, open the cabinet doors, play their music... we hear them SNEEZE. Then there are the...
parties that go all night long. We've made many noise complaints but sadly nothing will fix poor construction. Keep in mind, if you move here, this will be you, and your neighbors will hear your every move.
Side note... when we moved in, we were not told there is no elevator access for a Pod. Our Pod had to be parked in a remote location, unloaded onto a moving truck, driven up to our floor and unloaded and re-loaded until it was empty. Also, make sure your moving truck clears the parking garage clearance, the low height clearance was never mentioned to us when we moved in. Your other choice is to have your movers walk all of your furniture up the stairs.
I wish someone had told us this before we moved in! If you're looking for a quiet building (or even one you can sleep in) DO NOT move into the Griff. Sadly, it has been a total mistake :( We can't wait to move out.

Fantastic Property

I have been a resident for the last few months and I confidently will say this has been the best apartment complex that I have ever lived in. It would be an understatement to say the staff is really delightful and fun to speak and work with on all matters. They handle all requests in a timely fashion which is extremely important to me.

What also makes The Griff great for me are all the amenities such as their gym, its equipment, and Peloton Bikes, the pool is pretty dang awesome, and The...
Griff's rooftop gives you a Nashville Skyline view that I think is tough to beat.

Lastly, it is located in Germantown behind one of my favorite breweries (Bearded Iris) and is surrounded by many fantastic restaurants on the street. I recommend this complex to friends, but come check it out and see what you think.

Meets Expecation

Here is my 100% Honest Review:

The Good:
This apartment complex has great views of the cumberland river and has access to the greenway great restaurants just downstairs and the ammenities are up to par. You dont have to pay for parking which is a plus in TN. We moved into the two bedroom apartment on the first floor and it was good amount of space. The gym was by far my favorite! It has a Peloton studio and all the gym equimpment was new! I once needed some items and asked the front office to...
order them (bar shoulder sponge, weight locks ect) and they ordered them quickly. The pool is decent and peaceful for the most part. Office spaces are good.

We lived here through the tornado and COVID and the office was good about keeping their residents safe with food, flashlights ect.

The bad:
The apartment itself is poorly made. Walls are extremely thin, I could hear our upstairs and next door neighboors. I know that comes with living in an apartment but if I can actually hear your conversation and the time you wake up and make coffee the walls are too thin. The cabinets are cheap and in our restroom were uneven. Wall paint easly scuffed so there were balck marks everywhere. We lived towards the back where the grass part was and we had no door but the side apartments did have a door to the street, made no sense.

The dog park took over a year to build and thats really why we moved there, its not that great and always filled with mud. You will live next to an abanndonded bulding but it was neither here nor there.

Staff:
Jamie was one of the best staff members they had and he got promoted. The new office staff is ok, Kelly is the friendliest and was Fantastic at handling the office and request. Everyone else was like any apartment office staff- dismisive.

Overall, the last couple of months I was excited to move- is it a good starter aparmtent for sure! But I do think there is better for your buck around East Nashville. Ill miss the apartment events and the gym for sure!!
