The apartment itself is good for the money, but be careful. When filling out paperwork, make sure there is an apartment number written down - You may be shown gold but get crap. Myself and a few of the newer residents agree that we all saw the same unit and got something else. The property was built in 2003 from public records, I was told 2012. (PS: The many liens tell me they don't pay their bills either)
The exercise room is in poor shape, broken equipment and no outside access - If they... are closed you are not getting in. Pool was full of algae and has been closed by the health department many times in the past.
Community wise, after dark some caution is warranted like anywhere else but no signs of anything to be overly worried about. After dark lighting is OK around the apartments, but the trash and guest parking areas are not well lit. The West side of the property has some thieving issues from what I've been told by long term residents. Make a open records request with the Travis county sheriff's department - Its free and will tell you what all happens/gets reported here.
Record, write down and document every interaction with the management office. The issues I've had with them I don't feel come from malice, but more not owning their mistakes and leaving you with the burden/bill.
Otherwise, for affordable housing, it seems OK.
