I cannot urge you enough to avoid renting at the Oasis at Speedway or any property managed by Hyde Park Collective.
In the year I lived here, I found that the management was consistently either unwilling to assist in issues that came up or too disorganized to have any capacity to respond. Some of these issues included repeated electrical failure in my unit, and the arrival of downstairs neighbors who were extremely noisy most nights, talking and playing loud music until as late as 6AM. When... asked for assistance management sometimes said they would address the issue and sometimes insisted that there was nothing to be done about the problem or that they had no obligation to address the disruptive behavior of their tenants.
Finally, despite following their instructions for move out to the letter, the Oasis continue to attempt to bill me for rent and utilities after my move out. It took over 3 months, dozens of phone calls, emails, and too many hours of my time, and threatening to sue in small claims court to convince them that I had, in fact, moved out and to recover my security deposit. (If you're in this situation - contact their owner, CSC Management. They were my only recourse in this situation.)
Again, stay away from this place and Hyde Park Management. There are comparably priced apartments in Austin that are not falling apart inside and wildly mismanaged.

1) My front door didn’t lock. After a long battle with management I finally got it replaced. The maintenance man left without putting in a doorknob. When I asked him about it he called me a spoiled princess and told me I was asking for perfection.
2) There would be times that it would be 50 degrees in my apartment and they refused to do anything about it.
3) There was a hole in the roof in my unit. Their solution was to duct tape a plastic tarp on the roof. My window was also being held in... place my duct tape.
4) I’m pretty sure there is mold in the walls. My allergies were absolutely horrible while living here. When I moved out I felt so much healthier.

Would give it 0 starts if I could. Just to note, this is my personal experience, it may not be yours and I hope this doesn't happen to anyone else. Just to note, reaching anyone by phone at their office is nearly impossible. Their VM is full, they know this as I have told them, it has been months and they have done nothing about it. Communication is not their strong suite, at least it wasn't for me. I had to come down to the office to discuss my move-in in person the week before I moved bc I was... never able to reach anyone over the phone, and no one reached out to me.
Moved into the Oasis 7/17/21 - was not cleaned (dirt on floor, dead bugs on window sills), no fridge, no shower rods, oven/stove and garbage disposal not working, outlet in kitchen not working, no toilet paper holders or plugs for sinks/tubs. I was told I moved in too early on that day and move ins are supposed to be later on Saturdays - which was never told to me by the leasing agent I worked with. They got the fridge in that day, took another 5 days to get the oven/stove and garbage disposal working and for the place to be cleaned. I did not fully move in all my things and stay the night until 7/24/21. That is when I realized that the maintenance guys who installed the shower rod in my bathroom did not use a rod that fit the space. They used a spacer to make a too short rod fit, unfortunately it does not hold up the weight of a shower curtain. I have taken 1 shower since I have lived here, it was a struggle to get the rod back up and fortunately it held for that 1 glorious shower before it fell again, no tub stopper either so I can't bathe. Today is 7/27, still no working shower rod, stopper for tub or sink in bathroom, and outlet in kitchen still not working. Also, my roommate's closet flooded.
Oh, did I mention there is no central air conditioning? Did the leasing agents mention this? Of course not! There are individual AC units in the bedrooms, and a fan in the living area, just thought I should mention in case they don't tell you that either.
