I wouldn't live here again

I recently moved out of Wildcreek after living there for almost 5 years. Do not move here unless you want to fight tooth and nail over money once you move out. Wildcreek kept my deposit and charged me an additional $400. I have yet to receive the evidence of the three bags of trash that apparently had to be removed from my apartment nor a suitable explanation as to what constituted "beyond normal wear and tear" after living in a place normally for almost 5 years. I moved out at the end of... October after not receiving proper notice of the expected rate for a new lease in time and am still currently fighting with management over the remaining ~$100 they want to squeeze out of me.

In additional to the above issues that have thoroughly soured my experience with Wildcreek, the apartments are very small for the price they are currently asking, there is often trash left all around the complex, and the neighborhood is not good or particularly safe. Do yourself a favor and find somewhere else to live.

Best property I have ever lived at!

The management here is AMAZING! Anything you need and they are on it right away. When my apartment needed any maintenance they would always get someone out right away. If I had a question they would respond almost immediately. I am moving out of state but if I was staying in Texas I would happily live at Wildcreek Apartments forever.

Document!!!

If you are looking for a cheap place to live, this is your place. While saying that, I heavily recommend that you document every single correspondence with management. Be sure to get a copy of your lease and any sort of paperwork that you have with the office. Videos and photos of moving in/out of the apartment. What I’m saying is, be sure to document anything and everything with Wildcreek. Oh and be sure that you cancel the automatic payment. Do not rely on selecting, “when I cancel or move out... .” Their lawyer states that it is my fault for choosing that and not cancelling. Even better, just pay with a cashier check every month. It’s more expensive but well worth it for you.

The management is GREAT!

I have lived here in 4 different apartments over the course of the last 13 years. Every time I have left for another place, I have always come back here. The space is a good value for the money, maintenance is on time every time I call, and they fix everything. The manager is very friendly and nice and will help you with any problems you have in any way that she can. I have no problems with mail. Dogs are welcome, and they have a dog park for them. The swimming pools are nice, and they even give... you breakfast like a hotel sometimes! The neighbors are wonderful-mostly they are very quiet and friendly, and no problems with parking. There is no crime here, and the schools and universities are close by. There is a bus stop for the university right on the corner, so it is very convenient. Overall, it is a good place to live, and I would recommend it.

DO NOT RENT HERE

We have lived here since July of 2013. Since we moved in, regardless of how much we spray for bugs, german roaches are everywhere. In the bathrooms, in the closets. They come through the walls from other tenants, and routine spraying of the entire facility by the apartments themselves does nothing. We hired our own private pest control person to spray our unit specifically, and it did nothing.

This would be mild, expect ever since we moved in, our air condition has not worked properly, and...
cannot compete with Texas heat. The air conditioner is a model from the 80's, and broke down/literally froze up daily. Temperatures in Austin during THIS summer (2015) have been in the 100-104* range, and our air conditioner has not worked properly through it once. We have asked the managers for two years to fix our air conditioner, and they have flat out refused. The maintenance man has even said that he was not authorized to fix the air conditioner past spraying something in it to make it temporarily not freeze up. The apartment reaches 90* and up, and the managers do not care. My household currently cares for a 60 year old man that the managers refused to take into consideration when reviewing our air conditioner repair requests.

Bottom line, do not rent here. They refuse to do repairs, period.
